:D
Hi everyone, today they changed my colors and put an elastic band on my teeth to help move 2 or 3 teeth (one over, one forward and one behind) and next appointment I get my upper braces!
My crossbite has been fixed so the expander did its job and braces will go on to maintain the width.

Upper braces put on!
Man, this site is all foreign to me now, I've lost the fun of talking about my braces...anyways, got the top ones put on today and went with PINK on top and bottom, had a powerchain put across practically all of my bottom teeth, and the expander comes out NEXT appointment, damn.

Just wanted to pop in, I admit I feel guilty not coming on here that often, but that's something else entirely. I've gotten nice comments on my braces....my mom said that 'they don't look too bad', my stepmom said they look nice (compared to what she had when she was 40) and both she and my dad are really surprised at the movement of my bottom teeth. According to them, they are 'perfectly straight' lol, everyone's entitled to their own opinion eh? Next appointment is when I go back to college in August and I'll (at the very least) get my expander out! W00t!
*Edit* Oh and something else! I've been super curious lately on how braces will affect kissing my boyfriend lol. He doesn't have braces, was graced with very nice teeth but I'm just wondering if he'll feel them or anything. I'll head over to that "Braces and Kissing" article and check it out. So nice to see everyone again!

Food cravings :(
Hey all, anyone just have a random craving for foods like nuts (I like pretty much any kind, but I love cashews and pistachios especially) or popcorn or anything like that? I have three bags of popcorn here that I can't eat....two are butter and one is kettle corn (my favorite)
My Grandma wanted to buy me trail mix the other day and I said "Don't bother, I can't eat nuts anyways." I didn't even think I'd miss gum like I do! You know how your mouth gets "bored" and you just need something to chew on?
In the goodie bag from my ortho I got this list of "forbidden foods" and of course nuts and things are on it, argh!
Just a little frustrating, but I'm doing just fine otherwise.

I definitely know how it feels when you can't eat your food...
I used to chew gum ALL the time...always had one...I haven't had gum since January 9th and its driving me insane!!!
Chips are also something I miss... I love Cheerios and although they would be fine to eat....I don't even want to imagine the staining or the mess it would leave!!!

Aww I'm sorry Flora, January 9th is a long time to go without gum! Cheerios causing staining? Hmmm, do you have clear braces or whatever that something like that would stain? If you want to try some good Cheerios, try the Yogurt Burst Cheerios (Vanilla) I'm a big vanilla fan, so I figured they'd be good. I do okay with chips, I'm just careful about the size of the bites I take...I'll be so glad when I get that expander out, getting food caught in there and feeling like I'm going to choke is getting old! (try taking medicine where the pills are small and get stuck right inside it)
KK: It'll be a while until I get to see let alone kiss my boyfriend again, so we'll see how it goes I thought it was nice of my family too for giving me those nice comments...my dad being the perfectionist he is, has wanted me to have braces for a long time but now I finally am doing it for MYSELF and my health. My ortho said no gum of any kind, sugarless or not... and you're lucky you can still enjoy nuts if you're careful. Eat some for me.

Happy 1 month uppers anniversary to me! :D
My top teeth are getting loose! I can wiggle pretty much each one even if only the slightest bit and feel looseness, yay! Looseness=movement It's still a pain in the butt to floss using my proxibrush under my powerchain...it's such a tight squeeze! Anyone else run into that? My bottom teeth randomly hurt in spots too but regardless of all of that, I just keep trying to visualize what having a 'naked' roof of the mouth again is going to feel like! I'm also waiting for a somewhat wayward tooth on the bottom to get back in line! Patience though...
I know tomorrow is only June, but I'm mentally crossing off the days until my next appointment. Happy (late) Memorial Day to everyone and I will talk to you all soon hopefully.

Your teeth seem to be working hard on moving...loose teeth is a weird/cool feeling I find!
I know what you mean on counting the days until the next adjustment...I find this whole process goes so much faster when adjustments are close to one another...I love it. I always look forward to my next adjustment even though I hate the whole process!
I hope you see lots of progress before your next one!
Also, I tried eating cheetos last sunday...it was a mess! It stained my tooth colored ligs AND my silver ones!!!! It wasn't too bad...but still...at least my adjustment was the next day!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I'll definitely keep you updated on how it goes.
Flora, I'm sorry to hear about that staining with the Cheetos, that's gotta be a pain in the butt... I love them too and it took me a while before I could eat the crunchy ones (as well as any other kind of food) without my teeth hurting.
Though the puffy ones which are my favorite, luckily melt in your mouth somewhat...and now I know why you said that other foods would stain as well.
I wonder what colors I'll go with next time...I have two sets of ligs to play with now.
Something I'm going to ask the docs when I get done with this post is how exactly DO they remove expanders? After all it's cemented in!
Talk to you all soon hopefully,

Braces and fruit
I love all different types of fruit like apples, pears, etc. I cut those up into small pieces of course... but you definitely have to be careful with cherries! Just be gentle when you're chewing around the pits
