KK Thanks! You can't see the the lower flaring very well in these pictures but:

I have more flaring in one side than the other. This is the worse side (with the worse canine and the non bracketed possible 1st bisc. extraction one):

Upper & lower:

I know what you mean with the sunken look, I'm so affraid! I just think I've got so much flaring (specially upper flaring :() But thank you so much for your reply, it made me feel so much more confident.
I wish she could shave them actually 'cause my teeth are big, long and large! I'll let u know in a month what my solution will be. Has I said be4 I'm very happy and I also think my teeth move ok!

My biggest problems now are:

- Flaring
- Lower canines in front of upper canines (like a molar to canine underbite)
- Midlines and lower assimetry (like one side is different than the other)

njdana I know what u mean with the sweets!!! It's terrible for me. My body need a lot of sugar. I started a sweet free diet and since braced I'm lost 5 Kilograms  . I look horrible and I just want to gain my weight back.

rage31 Thanks for the encouragement!

juf_84 Thanks! :)

Hello everyone! My second adjustment had to be post-pone to 5 days because I ended up going to vacations (which were great by the way!). I confess, I ended up feeling guilty about calling the office and post-pone my visit to the orthodontist! It had been nearly 2 and a half months since my last adjustment! First, my doctor was on vacations then I was on vacations! I hope this never ever happens again!
So the big news first – FOUR first bicuspids need to be extracted. Here is what happened at the appointment:
- I came in and smiles and all and said I had a question for her, she listened carefully to my concerns about the flaring and said “sure let’s take a lookâ€

Hey kk! Thank you so much for ur reply. Ur husbands story sounds a bit painfull  !
I agree with not extracting unless it's essencial too, that's what she told me, that she waited these past months to see how they would react but unfortunately I've created bone in me part where my 2nd molars were and so teeth couldn't shift back :( She told me "Sorry, I did my best!".

TAke care,
Joe

Hi guys, I'm really sorry but I'm in need to vent again...
It's not the teeth themselves now... it's the whole thing. I can't focus on anything else, it's nuts.
So, I was checking my gums in the lower arch and damn, the extractions really need to be done, or else my gums will disappear under my canines  ... the gum is SOOO thin there, I can see my roots very clearly. My doctor said it will alright in the future, but I can't help but to think in the "what if's".... What if the gum opens? what if my mum decides to change to the other "system" there is ('cause this is nearly for free, but I am entitled to the treatment 'cause she works where she works), she wants to change it, I think I've convinced her but I'm afraid she might take one of those quick (and wrong) decisions she does every now and then. And then I'd have to wait again, and I don't want to screw my mouth... and I haven't told her about the extractions...
I'm going to blow up with so much stress inside of me, I've decided to have my tumors (the remains in my arm) removed until the extractions were done so I will only have them done later.
I just really hope my ortho. knows what she is doing, like she knows how to deal with the fact that I've got NO lower second molars....
Days go by to slowly and at my age, and as ridiculous as this may seem I just want TIME TO PASS... I want to hibernate for a freaking year.
The worse that is killing me is having to depend on my mother financially... I wish I could just think "screw my degree, I'm going to work"... but I can't... 'cause I really want it.
Damn, ok I've vented. I hope this won't sound bad for any of you. Braces are AWESOME it's just that in my case it's all different so I can't wait to have the extractions done and the freaking teeth in their right place like everyone else... I want normal gums that don't have to stretch all the way to accommodate my teeth. Just want to be NORMAL, have the mouth I was BORN WITH.

%$$#"#!#%&$"$#$#"%%$%"##$%$!!!

You guys are the best. I'm such a drama queen  .
Just the other day when we were having lunch I said "oh my doctor said she might extract this tooth to pull my canine back" and she said "really?" but she didn't seem upset so yeah, I will tell her soon  .
Hopefully it will be alright. I could never make through this whole thing if it wasn't the great advice I've received from u guys, regarding my problems in life and my teeth.
I am a strong person, but lately I think I have too much to deal with in my hands. I just don't think other people have so many problems age 20...!

THANK U SO MUCH!!!

Good luck with your extractions Joanna20. I'm getting 2 teeth extracted in early November. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Be glad that you're doing this age 20 and not age 41 like me. Remember you'll have a lot more years with straight teeth ahead of you.

Regards
Joney :D

Seems like you're doing what is best for you. Everything will fall in place. The only drawback about this is that it takes time. Good luck.

Hi guys!
I can’t believe it’s done! The dentist only extracted one tooth, he told me to go back in a weeks time to remove the other pre-molar. Apparently that’s how they do it when it’s in different sides of your mouth!
It didn’t hurt that much at all, it’s just a little uncomfortable. But it isn’t bleeding any longer or anything.
My arch wires were not removed for the procedure, which I find a little bit odd.
So in a week there I go again, and in 10 days I will visit my ortho so she can get the ball rolling!!!
I’ve told my mum, and it wasn’t a big deal at all!
Thank you guys for so much support! I don’t what I would do if it wasn’t this board.

Will post some pictures soon,
Joanna

happy that everything went fine with the extraction! :)

i find that funny that they make you wait a week to get the other side done because when they extracted my sister's teeth they did 5 teeth at ONCE!!! ya i no i thought i was crazy... and one of the teeth was still a baby tooth so they had to dig down in the gum to get the permanent one out from underneath that one... and i top of that she got braces down like an hour after that... archwire and all!!! BE HAPPY THAT U GOT IT SPACED OUT LIKE THIS! :)

best of luck!

Hey guys, I don't know if this was extraction related or not, but today I almost fainted in school  . I had to skip classes and all in the afternoon. The pain was mainly migraines and my jaw. I felt hot, then really cold, then hot again. I was pale white and felt really weak...
I find it very odd since I've been fine all week, just a little bit nervous... Now I'm glad I've got one done yesterday.
The brace is doing a little pressure already so maybe that's why it's hurting more than the usual?!
Thanks for reading, will update soon.

Thanks! Good luck for your sister too... Poor her I can't imagine what 5 teeth extracted plus braces must be like  .

Me winning - don't bother reading...

#74 Post by Joanna20 »

´rghhhh. I am really frustated. I know I shouldn't even hear this but it's getting me really mad, my family is saying that my gap will never close and so on... it's so annoying... I decided to tell my mother because I thought sooner or later she would find it and she is the one paying (very little) for my treatment, and it is because of her that I am entitled to have it... My grandmother woke up today screaming and saying I was nuts for letting another tooth out  ... I explained her that this is a normal procedure and that it will be alright...
I hate so much when people mind someone else's business and specially when are extremely negative about it - it's almost has if they don't want it to happen... From now on I'm not telling anyone in my family about my further extractions...
I even showed my mum Sarah's progress, she said "Oh I've got no doubt it will close but you've got a huge gap there" it's like "oh yeah yeah you're right"...

I think I'm going to ignore my family for a really long time... I'm so MAD... why does it have to be so hard 4 me? They're always putting me down for anything I do...
I started not listening to what they say at all, but it puts me down that my family should be the first supporting me...
Sometimes I really feel like giving up, big time.
