Sweetie's diary/pictures

#1 Post by Sweetie »

Hi everyone
Today is 2/7. Here are my teeth. Hopefully soon they will not look like this anymore; at least maybe they will look a little better.

Here you can notice my gummy smile and deep bite, which is why I will use elastics and hopefully that help with my TMJ.

February 16 will be the day I am looking forward to day, but I can't deny I am scare of how I am going to look.

Welcome Sweetie!
There are a great group of caring and knowledgeable people who respond on this site. You will learn a lot from them and their stories. I am pretty new at this yet myself (in my 4th week), but I avariciously read everything on the archwired site before making my decision to go ahead with braces (lowers only). That helped me be informed and able to ask intelligent questions about my own care plan. I hope that you will read (or have) all of the great articles and info that Lynn has put together.
Also be prepared to laugh and smile a lot when you read the posts. These folks have a wonderful sense of humor, and laughing/smiling is about the best activity for general health that doesn't cost at all.
Take good care of yourself, and don't be afraid to ask questions, especially of your ortho and staff.
Best wishes for an easy brace day and all those that folow!
Ruth :D

Braces day

#3 Post by Sweetie »

Today is Feb 16 and this is my teeth with braces
Image
Day 1 with braces

The process of getting braces was from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. It was better than I though is definitely better than a cleaning, is just uncomfortable. It is around 6:50 PM now and just now I felt a deep pain in one bottom tooth when I try to close my mouth, but other than that I have been pain FREE. I ate soup first, was kind of difficult, then I ate pasta which was more easy, but more messy. I have to work tomorrow, Thank God I will be by myself, my teeth were already push forward and now with braces I barely can close my mouth and when I do, it does not look good, but I guess I have to get use to it.
Ok, let see what the future holds for me. :D :D :D You will here more form me soon.

Good luck to you. Everything looks great! I can't offer up much advice cause I'm new to this process but I hope eating isn't too difficult for you in the next few weeks. Too bad this isn't any sort of instant gratification process.

Well done Sweetie, the first few days are a bit hard as it is a period of adjustment but things like eating and cleaning get easier and easier. I bet your teeth will look fantastic when it is all done. Your top brace is barely noticable, I have metal which is a lot more noticable. Hope things are going well for you.

Regards

Thanks a lot, everyone for your support. KK thanks for you advice I didn’t even think in drink water while I eat. I usually don’t drink water until I finish so I can eat more, funny right a lot of people want to eat less and I want to eat more. Is just because I have always been skinny and I always try to at least maintain my weight.
Today my checks are kind of sore if that is the right word to say, I think I am getting a blister but to be honest I don’ know which bracket is causing it. Could you guys recommend me a blister medication that should help me? Thanks again talk to you soon.

Hi everyone

4 months already, wow...

I haven't visit the forum in a while, but I am back and posting some new pictures to encourage the new ones like me or the ones that are still thinking in getting braces. I used to do that, look for pictures of smile similar to mine and dream that my teeth could look like theirs smiles one day, so I am in the process of my dream.

Here are the pictures.
Image
1st adjustment (a little bit stronger wire) 2nd adjustment was same wire and not that much change.

Image
3th adjustment (a definitive stronger wire I didn't remember pain until this wire  )

My experience so far has been great almost pain free and I have to admit I was petrified for a lot of reasons, I have TMJ, my jaw is locked at a little more than 1 inch when opening, sometimes my jaw hurt when eating, I am really skinny and didn't want to loose weight, I have MPV and I taught my gums will be bleeding frequently and increase my risk of endocarditis, etc, etc. I know everyone have a lot of concerns, but look is not impossible.
