After 4th Adjustment Pictures
Here are some pictures I took today. The teeth have moved along quite nicely.
Just 2 more MM to go! Why this little distance is taking so long, I have no idea.

5th Adjustment
This morning I went to my Ortho office for my 5th Adjustment.
They said my teeth have made great progress. They have finished moving my upper teeth. Now the only thing left to do is fix the bottom teeth pertaining to my overbite.
Basically they put a few bends on the new wire for the bottom teeth. These bends will bring the bottom teeth "up" and "forward". The change in height of the bottom teeth will fix the overbite completely. We are looking for a completion date of February.
Hope to hear from you all soon! I will post pictures in the next few days.
Todd
Oh, the pain is substantial. It hurt to eat a piece of bread (white bread...very soft) this evening. Can you say "diet"?

A quick update
Hello everyone! I hope you are well.
I have another adjustment next week. I wanted to give a quick update. I've been wearing my elastics as required. I've noticed a small change from the last adjustment.
I am very much hoping the next adjustment will be either my last or the next to the last adjustment. It will be terrific if I can get the braces off in February as originally anticipated. My ortho did mention that the retainers I will get will be the Hawley designs. That is fine with me. I am looking forward to the day when I can floss like a regular person again!
I will be sure to post pictures next week after my adjustment.
Talk to you soon. Look forward to hearing from you.

My 6th Adjustment!
Hello everyone. I went into my appointment with hopes of hearing that I would only have my braces for another 8 - 12 weeks. Well, it's true. Provided I keep wearing my rubberbands as prescribed, I'll get impressions taken on February 8th. Then it will only be another 2 or 3 weeks until the retuainers are macde. YEAH!
I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I'll try to post some pictures in the next couple of days. I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON. Horray for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Well, it has been quite a December and January. I'm looking forward to my next and FINAL adjustment on the 7th of February. YEAH!!!!! I've been quite diligent about wearing my rubber bands.
I'm dreaming of having nothing on my teeth. I had lunch with a friend today and enjoyed a salad. I later found out I had a piece of lettuce in my braces. How embarrassing! Less than a month to go before I'm part of the bare tooth club!
I'll post pictures as soon as my next adjustment is finished.
Ta ta,
Todd

Last adjustment...ever!
I am so happy to report my braces will be removed at 10am on the 22nd of February.
This morning, I went in for my final adjustment. I admit I bit into a piece of steak the other day and broke a bracket. UGH! Well, one of the top teeth shifted in just a few days. The tech said she would reapply the bracket and that we could still take the impressions for my retainers. I'm supposed to continue wearing the rubber bands until I receive my retainers on the 22nd February.
Many years ago, I had "spring retainers" to fix a few minor problems. When I had the impressions then, I can't tell you how disgusting the taste was and how messy the process was. Well today, it was smoother than I could ever have imagined. The tech put putty into the trays like normal. The taste was not bad at all. I just kept telling myself to breathe so I wouldn't gag.
After reapplying the bracket and putting on a new arch wire, they sent me on my way.
I did find out for certain I would be getting the traditional Hawley retainers. This is fine. From what I remember before, they take some practice in speaking but the wire is not very noticeable. I remember making clicking sounds with many words in the beginning. "K's" were especially tricky.
I'm planning on bringing my digital camera to the final appointment so they can take pictures. I've never mastered getting them clear as so many of the other members have on this message board.
I plan on eating a candy apple, raw carrot, and caramel they day they are removed.
All! What are some of the things you will eat the minute your braces are removed? I’m just curious. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

2 More Days to Go!!!!
2 more days. I can't take it any longer. I want the braces off!
By the way, the Wildlife Expo. was wonderful in Charleston, SC. Lovely art. I picked up a few original oil pastel paintings from a wonderful artist who lives in OK.
