New Metal's Journal (with pics) update 8/26/07

#1 Post by New Metal »

Hello,

This is the first entry in my online journal. Thanks to all who have posted stories with pics it really tells the story. I just found out yesterday what the wax was for, I was wondering for the longest time.. whats with all the wax talk.. then I saw pics with the wax in use AHH HAA !! I think think I max invest in an electric tooth brush.

Here you can see I have a lil crowding at the bottom and my uppers are pushed forward. Also to be picky my k9s' are uneven. You can see my annoying peg tooth UGHH. I'm hopin' for maybe 13 months, but we will see.

Waiting to get the braces is definitely the hardest part. Certainly the most painless part, but the hardest. I couldn't sleep hardly at all the night before my appointment. Then you've got a mouth full of metal and you definitely learn what the wax is for. But before you know it, it's been a few weeks and you hardly even notice that they're there unless you think about it.

I would highly recommend an electric toothbrush. Even if it's just one of those cheap ones at first. I absolutely love mine. Don't know what I ever did without it.

Yeah I read that an electric tooth brush would be the way to go. I picked up a SONICARE Essence 5500 last night, so I hope that was a good choice. I think I will go with smoke color ligs to help with my coffee drinkin' and I think I should get a tub of wax to scoop on after :D . I was wondering do you need the wax after a few weeks?

I just had another thought, The ortho didnt say anything about needing spacers during our consult. Man, getting hyped about getting my braces, getting to the office and leaving with some brand new super cool spacers !!!

I got braced on 3/9/07, so far so good, just kinda hard chewin' without the complete use of my back teeth. She didnt wire my whole mouth, I go back 4/10/07 I guess to get fully wired.

Well I had my temp wire removed and replaced with a wire that connects all my teeth. When do these power chains come into play, is that toward the home stretch? A lil discomfort nothing major, I dont need to take any pain killers which is cool. I got back toward the end of May.

Well, here are some pics 1 week after the complete wiring of all my teeth. I think the teeth on the bottom are startin to move a bit and you can see the tooth located on right side of my smile pic is still out of line, but its only been a week.
