soremouth21's journey with braces (with pictures)

#1 Post by soremouth21 »

First of all, I'd like to say hello and thanks to everyone on this board. I've been surfing this site for a few months now and have really learned alot from everyone's stories. The pictures really sold me on taking the braces plunge.

Here is a picture of my before:

I had ceramic braces placed today on my upper teeth, and will be posting pictures soon.

Hi soremouth21!

Welcome!!
You have really beautiful teeth to begin with, so your results are going to be great! :D

Remember about the salt water rinses, it do wonders for your mouth!!!

I'm really looking forward to see your progress...(I have the same kind of brackets, and they have been on for a week  )

congrats and welcome.

(digs out advice pamphlet). I gotta second (or third or fourth) what everyone says about salt water rinses. :) They are life savers. The beauty of them is to not only use them when you have problems - but to start using them as part of your daily hygiene (along with brushing and flossing ;) ) to be PREventive. Enjoy the ride ... it's a great journey to be on! Looking forward to seeing your pearly whites move into place.

wow. people on this site are really friendly. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

So speaking to my orthodontist, we are currently looking at 8-12 months. My guess is that it'll be somewhere around 12-16, which is fine with me.

In terms of my lowers: the game plan is to see the progress with the uppers, and how I like the direction of the treatment. My lowers aren't too bad, so I may just stay with the uppers.

god bless salt water and wax!

Yeahhh!!!

Hi soremouth21!

Great that you're starting to feel / see changes... I know that at first can be really strange.... not knowing if things are actually moving, or is just your head.... but believe it or not... the first changes can happen really soon... and for me have been a huge motivation!

I hope they'll work the same way for you

Good luck!
