Livvies b. story...2nd adjustment comparison pics

#1 Post by Livi35 »

Hi all,

I had my second adjustment today (weird, I've only been in braces for 10wks but somehow it feels like forever...). After the pain of the first adjustment I must admit I went in with a little trepidation.

Fortunately, it was no way as near as bad as I thought. I had my wire removed (thank heavens, the little blighter was poking into my cheek and causing heaps of grief, and no matter how hard I put it back in its place it just kept coming back), and a heavier/thicker one put on. My ortho didn't say much (again), but I didn't ask (next time I think I may pick his brains heaps). I also got a powerchain (can someone please tell me - what do they do? Are they for moving teeth across gaps?), on my uppers only.

I got slightly brave and went for the pearl coloured ligs on the uppers as well as the lowers as they don't seem to stain anywhere as much as the clear ligs do (time will only tell, tis 8wks until the next adjustment). I'm still too gutless to go for colours, maybe next time....

As for movement, my lowers have straightened heaps, there is one slack lateral that is a little reluctant (maybe just a little pigheaded and is comfortable where it is?). My uppers are a little slower also, but I have noted some more subtle changes, ie. easier to floss in between. The overlapping incisor has also moved slightly, as it doesn't seem to cross over as much. Overall, I am pretty pleased so far...

Here come the pics.
