After years of hesitation and negotiating with myself, finally I have decided to get braces. I have put the bottom ones on June 6th, at the age of 29. As my job is client-related (CEO of a PR company), I have opted for celar brackets.
Since then there were four adjustments (the last one yesterday - my teeth are still a bit sore, because the ortho decided to put me thicker archwire), but I really had almost no trouble to get used to braces. Pain was not present almost at all, while my cheeks were sore only first two-three days.
The ortho predicts that I`ll have to wear them for appx. 1 year in total. We`ll see.
Funny, but having braces didn`t affect my life in any sense. I speak normally, eat normally (with certain limitations, of course
), work normally, negotiate with clients normally, live with my wife normally in any sense, and that`s it. Simply, I was more afraid of braces than I should have been.After 3 and 1/2 months in braces, I can see real progress here. The bottom teeth are moving in line. Now, at the next appointment (October 4th), we should discuss whether to proceed with the top or not.
