Also my 1st adjustment was today and wooooooooooooooooooowwww
IPR (slenderizing) was no walk in the park :-+

It 1st started with the asst taking off my old ligs (which she cut my lip) with the hook thingie....

After that my ortho came in and started the process on my bottoms and they run cold FREEZIN cold water on the tooth as he slenderizes.... that really bothered me.....BUT

it only took 10 minutes and I was done.... So if I only have to put up with that for only 10 mins over having 4 teeth pulled then I would do it again tomorrow.

The asst put my new ligs on same wires and I was on my way..... 2nd adjustment set for January

Hi Pooh! You've def. had movement on your uppers, they look great!

I love the baby blue ligs! I'm powerchained top and bottom right now and my ortho wants me to stick with silver since they're "stronger." I'm so jealous of your color.

Those blue ligs look great! I haven't gotten a chance to experiment with colors yet since I had wires ties on top and on some of the bottom - I'm going to ask at the next adjustment if I can get ligs on over the ties maybe. Here's to more great progress on the horizon!

Ok so yes I have been off this site for awhile.... but I am back....

Did u miss me???

Ok today was my 2nd adjustment and it went like this........... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok here it goes...
I get there and waited 20 minutes to see the Ortho. Then he tells the girl to take off the excess cement that was around the brackets...(which didnt feel that great but I am soooo glad she did) as u can see in my photos it looks alot better.....

BUT>>>>>

when she was done she says ok you can close and GUESS WHAT>>>>

I couldnt..... my jaw was stuck..... YES stuck

I couldnt even get it undone. She had to get the doctor to come help. I have never had that happen EVER. I was so scared I even started crying.....

But in the end my jaw was back to normal (I hope) and she changed my ligs to grey/silver and I was on my way. One hour later....

Here are some current photos taken today....

Hey Pooh,

Welcome back..........We all miss you........

I am sorry to say that I have the same problem with my jaws. They tend to slide out and down when I have held my mouth open toooo long. My ortho knows this, and my dentist does too! So they give me plenty of breaks. I do hope it doesn't get any worse. But know this, it's one of the first signs of worsening TMJ/TMD problems.......I'll be praying for you, because I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It can get very bad, not to scare you, though.

The progress pics look great. That's alot of movement since they went on. Keep up up to date.......

Hey Pooh! Your arches look fantastic! I still love the short hair! Oh and why do they have to band the back molars?

Thanks for writting and welcoming me back

I must say I noticed I have missed some stuff while I was off the site for a short time......

BUT I am back :-88

Mott

Ok after I read your post I went into super freak out mode but I am better now. My jaw is doing good. I have been looking on line and found some mouth exercises I can do to try and help..... so will give that a shot.
I go for my cleaning 2/18 so I will tell the dentist about it and then "keep my fingers crossed" it wont happen again. Then back to Ortho 2 times in Feb so hope I can handle all these visits...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (again)

Miss Smiley
Thanks on the short hair I just got it cut and highlighted again.... its hard to be a girl.... right....

They say they are putting bands on the molars since they are not straight or centered (not sure if that is the right way to say it) so they can in the end act as a buffer to keep everything in order..... (I guess) trust me......after my jaw got stuck they could have told me anything I really wasnt paying attention.

BUT I also have a question for anyone that knows......

Why do they put the ligs on one way on some brackets then on others they do the "x" shaped way??

My first adjustment they did "x" shape on the bottom 4 fronts now this time they only did "x"s on two??

Just wondering.....

Loving these braces.......

By crossing the ligs, I'd assume it would engage the wire more tightly into the slot.

I guess yous molars needing to be banded for more extensive work makes sense.

Don't worry about your jaw getting stuck, it happens to my other half all the time when he yawns.
