Karen: As always, thank you for your kind, encouraging words! But I'm a little concerned about your "blackout" incident in the shower?!

Ken: Thank You and yes, I am quite pleased with my 8 months progress. Hopefully I will have my braces for less than the original 18 months? And I must say I always enjoy your use of animated "smileys" they always crack me up!!

Stephanie:I agree, long time no see! Thanks for your kind compliments and I will be visiting your profile right now!

Talk to you soon,
~Victor

update

#93 Post by victor36 »

Hi, everybody at ArchWired! Haven't posted anything in about a month so I thought I'd give everyone an update.

So I went for an adjustment on Thursday. It took a lot longer than usual. Mainly because 1) They put in much stiffer archwires which were more difficult for the assistant to tie in, and 2) I now have Power Chains across all my teeth (which I never had before). I don't know if one or the other (or both) is causing the discomfort in practically all of my teeth. Not exactly sure why they suddenly chose to use PCs for treatment. Is this normal? Who knows. But I do know that I am taking Advil for the pain and rinsing regularly with warm salt water rinses. Seems to help.

Let me share some pictures with you:

ImageBottom Arch, highlighting the Left Central Incisor which has yet to rotate into alignment. It's being a stubborn son-of-a-gun...

That's all for now... time for bed! Good night!

Victor

Your progress continues to be amazing. I haven't had powerchains so I'm not too sure about them but at the rate your smile is improving I imagine your sentence is going to be reduced for good behaviour.

I'm sure the combination of the new wire and the PCs are making everything sensitive and I hope the discomfort eases up for you soon.

Regards
Joney

Thank you, Karen and Joney! I needed that extra bit of encouragement to keep me going.

Last night, I forgot to mention that I will still be wearing the elastic triangles in the front, but the ortho decided to change from 3/16" down to 1/8". Lotsa changes this time around! Coupled with lotsa discomfort. But I know it will be ALL WORTH IT in the end!!

I also forgot to post comparison pics so you can see my progress so far. I hope they are as inspirational to you as they have been for myself:

I hope Joney is right; here's to time off for good behavior!

Thank you to KK, Cleobabe and Miss Smiley for your kind words and encouragement! The pain has subsided and I am much more comfortable now. I've even grown accustomed to the 1/8" elastic triangles in the front.... I don't know if there will be much movement since my teeth have aligned (for the most part--except for my mid-line and the pesky lower left central--what is your problem?!)

10 months' progress

#101 Post by victor36 »

Thanks to chillin-in-grilz, roxiee, and bracedagain for your kind words and encouragement! Well today marks 10 months in braces so I thought I'd share some pictures to mark the occasion:

ImageFront (I used Photoshop for an at-home Zoom whitening treatment to make my teeth look whiter)

ImageNatural smile (disregard the chapped lips)

ImageTop. My rear 2nd & 3rd molars are tipped outward. Doesnt seem to bother me though.

ImageMore direct view of my Uppers. And my goatee hair.

ImageBottom

ImageBottom, Part II: The Sequel

Let's remind ourselves of my train wreck of a smile from earlier this year:
ImageI enjoy making these "before & afters" but they are quite time-consuming.

That's all for now; Talk to you soon!
