Hey Everyone! I had my LAST adjustment on Jan. 10! Yea. I have my debrace date finally. I get my braces removed Feb. 19th. I'm so very excited. Anyway I have a choice to make and I'll ask you for your opinion here. I'll also post this question in Naked Tooth.

a. I can pick either a clear retainer (essix type, don't know the name brand my ortho uses) for top and bottom. or...

b. I can pick clear for top and have a wire on the bottom behind my teeth.

Right now I'm leaning to having retainer top and wire bottom because I think in the long run it will be better to have the wire in permanently and also I'd be worried how it would feel talking and such with two retainers in and them clicking together.

What have your experiences been?

Anyway here are some pic.'s.

your teeth look beautiful!!!

personally i would choose both top and bottom essix. my boyfriend has a bonded wire on his bottom 4 teeth, and one of his teeth has gone a bit skew. it's not much, but over time it may get worse. i would probably feel more assured my teeth would stay straight will essix because they are actually moulded to the shape of your teeth.

good luck!

WOW ! Your teeth look great !!!

I am only having to get braces again because I didn't have a bonded retainer. This time, I'll have one on top and bottom so I can keep my beautiful teeth for the rest of my life.

You should be the poster child for why we endure the pain and soreness of braces. Your teeth look wonderful and I think you will agree that the journey was worth the time and effort. Now I am very anixous to be done and have a smile like yours.

Congrats.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement! It has been tough at times having braces, but all in all it hasn't been a big deal. That being said, I'm still VERY excited to be getting them off soon. I think I'm going out after to celebrate. I'm going to BITE into a big brownie with icing without having my braces completely gunked up!

Your teeth look amazing! How does your ortho get all your teeth the same size and shape? Did he do any filing or is that just the magic of orthodontics?

I never noticed that my teeth were the same shape! ha ha ha, thanks for pointing that out. I had some chips that the ortho evened out a bit, but no, I just seem to have square teeth! ha ha ha

I got Debraced today! I'm so happy with the results. The process was much easier and less painful then I expected. I'll post some pictures below!
