I have already had pizza 2x and it was a fork all the way, and loads of cheese where it was not supposed to be. :) Sat night some of my friends are throwing me a b-day party, my real birthday was last weekend, so they are ordering pizza, I guess I will be eating that in front of them, the down side is I dont have my DentaKit yet, so I will have to pack all my wares in my purse. But such is life now.

It will be loads of fun for sure.

B I think I will go see my ortho on Mon thats the best time to get in there Thanks :D
My sentence is a Minimum of 24 months

Hi Smile,

It seems that no matter what you eat, especially in public, you need to cut it up extremely small. I hate having food in my teeth and I primarily use my 2nd molars to chew, but of course food travels to the front. I don't have a dentakit, but my ortho gave me a nice take home kit which I keep in my handbag, and I use it at lease twice a day.

Did you end up getting your wires clipped yet? Have a great weekend!

Hey Denise, you're too funny!!! Love Costco!!! I'm always checking things out after I've eating something.

I need to be positive about my orthodontic experience. My ten year old is soon going to have his first consult with the ortho soon enough, I feel he should be checked out soon and my dentist says that I'm wasting my time and that I should wait until he's 11. Then I get my statement from the ortho talking about early intervention and phase one treatment. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place and don't want to cross over anyones toes since my dentist and ortho are friends... too many things to worry about! I figure that at my appointment on 2/12, I'll mention something to the new patient coordinator and go from there.

I'm always carrying a water bottle in my bag to, so if I feel that there's something in my teeth, I can always take a sip and swish.

COSTCO ROCKS!!! It's definitely your one stop shop, I would send my ex-husband in there with a list and $300 dollars later, OMG.... Where are going to put everything and he comes home with more stuff that we don't need.

When I was pg with my twins, I craved hot dogs and costco had the best! Everything else made me sick though.

As far as my son goes, He's only lost 9 teeth, but is 4 lowers are moderately crowded and He does have a deep bite. He also has a nice space b/t his centrals like his mommy did 30 years ago and I had a major crossbite of my upper laterals and I did have phase one treatment. I will make an appointment at my adjustment and have the new patient coordinator check my ex's insurance (he claims that he gets 4K per child in ortho coverage -- I hope that's the case) My son has his regular dental appt on 2/14 and he's getting x-rays then, that will also give me a better idea of what's going on. Maybe my dentist will change his mind at that point. Alot can happen in 6 months and I don't want to miss the boat.

As far as the water goes, I do it in restaurants and I've learned to be discrete by putting a napkin in front of my face or in public like in target or in a store, I take a quick swig while no one is around and swish.

Got to run, my kids are going stir crazy!!! :-+

Just an update, I went to the ortho yesterday because I kept knocking my upper canine into my lower bracket, and I was mainly concerned with knocking off my bracket or breaking a tooth. Anyway to make a long story short, since my first adjustment was going to be in two weeks anyway, my ortho decided to do it yesterday. I ended up getting my lower wire changed to a .016 rectangular niti and I got a bumper (a lig with padding) on the lower left canine. Wow, my lowers hurt!!! All they did on the top was change the ligs on the 5's and I had wire ties from 4-4 already and they were still tight. I can't believe what a difference that made.

My next adjustment is in 5 weeks, maybe I'll get a new wire on top.

I will try and get new pics up tonight.

Hey Ken,

An early adjustment definitely rocks!!! Wow, let me tell you I couldn't get over the amount of pressure going on when the assistant was inserting the wire and that was before the brackets were tied off. It nice to have your first adjustment 19 days after your braces are placed. Hopefully on my next adjustment in 5 weeks, maybe the uppers will get a new wire, I hope so...

Take it easy.

Wow, you got a new wire and now hurting again! OUCH !! Take your Advil for a few days.

I went today to my ortho and he is not going to replace my Bite Turbo that fell off... he said that my bite has changed enough these past 3 weeks that my teeth are now clear of hitting the brackets!!

He said he wished I'd let him put metal Damon on my front 6 teeth because those 6 will move slower than the rest of my mouth. SOOO I told him after my vacation, seeing my friends, I'll do it. I have an appointment for Feb 19th. She said if something opened up sooner, she'd let me know.

Take it easy on that new wire!!

Hey Peb,

Yes, I got a new wire, but it's a different kind of pressure, and I'm back on the motrin again... hopefully not to long. Hopefully my uppers will get the stronger wire in 5 weeks, I guess that depends on how much goes on.

I'm so happy for you that you didn't get the bite turbo back, YIPPEE!!! How are you feeling about changing your brackets? While your away you can truly think about it. Alot can change in the next 3 weeks too. Is that your regular adjustment appointment?

Have you started packing for your trip, it's going to be so nice to get away.

Catch ya later,
B

Hi Miss Smiley,

Well my cheek on the lower right side is shredded, OUCH!!! I have a buccal bracket on my 2nd molar that was added in with the new wire and the hook has already put a nice hole in my cheek.

Lots of motrin and wax!

OUCH! I feel for you, well keep up with the wax, warm saltwater rinses to soothe some of the pain and keep any infections at bay, and drink tons of water!

Miss Smiley,

I've totally been doing the salt water rinses and wax and it's finally healed up. Lets see when I stop using the wax. I'll figure that I'll give it another day or so. As far as water goes, I drink at ton. I always have a bottle with me.

Denise,

The bonus adjustment was nice so instead of being in 2 weeks, I got pushed out by three weeks. I hope that I get a get a new wire on the uppers, but who knows, the top definitely needs more work. I guess that I'll have to wait for March 5th! Did you ever order the rincinol? Both CVS and Walgreens online carry it.

Hi Denise,

You can get it at either CVS.com or Walgreens.com it costs 9.99 for a 4oz bottle. I'm not sure of the shipping, but CVS give you free shipping if you spend $50.

Good Luck.
