Larannas story

#1 Post by laranna »

So I've never really been able to go to the dentist alot before. But im just now starting on my journy to braces. Before I can have ligatures and brackets floating in my head I have to have fillings and three root canals. He estimated about six appointments. I go in on monday.
Can't wait to see what the future beholds

Hi there

I have a daughter your age. You've had a tough life and I'm delighted for you that things are going well now. Your teeth are nice and I'm sure they'll be fantastic when your all done.

I did notice that you put quite a lot of personal details in your post, for example peoples names. Maybe you may just want to edit the post and reconsider this. Usually people are a bit anonymous here. I know youngsters post all sorts of stuff about themself on the net but it's not really the best idea to post too much personal information.

Good luck with getting everything done. You deserve a bit of luck.

Regards
Joney

You sure have had a tough time :( but there's a saying isn't there "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger".

I'm glad things are starting to go better for you now. It sounds like you're overdue for a bit of good luck!

Let us know how you get on with your dentistry and ortho work.

Now three root canals under my belt!!

#6 Post by laranna »

I went back to my dentist's office monday and had that root canal. Now I can actually chew without any pain!! :D
I scheduled another appointment for this thursday when they will go in and put two more fillings in. This time on my top right! I didn't even know that I had cavitys up there! LOL Thank goodness for my dentist's keen eye for things. I still have alot of work that needs to be done before that referral comes my way.

1) Caps and posts for those molars. (Two different appointments) urgh!

2) The root canal for that baby tooth.

3) Getting rid of the two temporary fillings that I have and replaceing them with permanent ones.

The lord only knows how long all of that will take. But by my own estimate i'd say a lil over a month depending on how close together my appointment dates are. I lucked out this week and was able to get two in the same week.
Something I dont understand: I had a root canal about two years ago on another baby tooth. The root canal wasn't finished because I couldn't afford the cap and post. So I was left with a temporary filling. ( Which lasted a very long time) About three months ago I had that tooth pulled.
Because it was breaking off. The tooth on the other side of that empty space is the very same baby tooth that I have to get a root canal on.
I don't understand why they don't just pull that tooth also. Aspecialy
because I have severe crowding in my front four bottom teeth. It just seems like common sense to me to just pull it and save all the uneeded work that will have to be done.
Because when I start treatment with my ortho i'd bet my left leg that he'd want it extracted. Well whatever..Here's to starting on the road to a perfect smile!! :D

I KNOW THAT FRONT TOOTH LOOKS LIKE
IT OVERLAPS THE OTHER, BUT IT DOESN'T.

I'll update when I get the posts and caps put in.
Until Then,
Laranna

post's and More!!

#8 Post by laranna »

Well ladys and gentleman
Look's like we're about done here.
Soo I went back to see Dr.kennedy today and got the posts put in.
They had to drill out the temp's and put in permenent fillings in.
They said they'd give me a call when they got my caps in.

Great News!

My dentist was so busy today, he had and older man in the room next to mine getting all of his teeth pulled!
I was thanking the lord that I was't in his shoes!
But he was running around from room to room talking to all the waiting patients that I didn't want to bother him with my referral.
But he came in back in before I left to check on those fillings,
and I asked him about the ortho.
He said " Well sure, I was so rushed I almost forgot!"
So he gave me Dr.Zeh's office number and I called and made an appointment For march 13 at 10:40 AM.
I'm so exited!!
They'll do lot's of x-rays and Do molds of my teeth.
Also I've been smoke free for three whole days.
WHOOOOOOO!!!!

Consult!!!

#11 Post by laranna »

Well I went to my dentist office the other day and had my temporarys drilled out and had perments put it. It was all pretty painless. Hopefully since they didn't numb me at all. But i asked my dentist about the orthodontist and he gave me a brochure about the ortho and told me to call for a consult.
I was so exited that I called the office on my way home. The ortho office was about to close but I got through so now i'm scheduled for March 13th at 10:40am.
I so exited! I really don't know what to expect.
So could someone tell me?
My friends are so tierd of me blabbing on about my treatment! But I can't help it, it's something that i've wanted for so long and it's finally happening!
One week left....I think that I just wet myself a bit out of exitment!! lol

Thanks for reading,
Laranna
