YUP!! They're on!!
They feel rather large to say the least. Teehee. And scratchy.
Getting them on was exciting. You all know how I've mentioned how small my teeth are....well when Dr Schwartz was putting on my molar bands today he started with the size 12....Bands range from a size 3 to a 36 with size 18 being the average.
Mine were size....wait for it......6. Meaning my teeth are three times smaller than average!! Holy moly.
He didn't have enough of the sixes for all four molars so he jammed a 7 in one and I get that replaced on my next consult.
My bung tooth hasn't been bracketed yet because he said that it will just annoy the hell out of me so he's gonna wait til there's a bit more room.
And I got a weeny taste of that disgusting glue -
But all in all it was relatively painless and right now I only have slight pressure on my teeth. I'm sure it will get worse tomorrow. Well I hope it does!! Yep, I love pain. Hahah
When I was taken to the mirror to have a look I was surprised at how unnoticable they are...sure you can see them - but they don't look as obvious as they feel. It feels like my top lip sticks out a mile!!
YAY - I'm pretty stoked. Just waiting for my boyfriend to come round and we're gonna have soup for dinner.
I took a photo so I'll post that as soon as I get the cable for the camera off my boyfriend.

Congrats on getting braced!! I can't wait to see your pics and progress. The first day, it won't hurt that much. Mine was brutal on the 3rd day! Just remember that ice cream is your friend. Usually my teeth are pretty sensitive to cold foods...but I found the cold ice cream very comforting to my inner cheeks and tender gums.
Congratulations on your V-Day Eve/B-Day!!!!
Just remember to drink lots of water, wear lip balm, rinse with warm salt water to toughen up your cheeks, take OTC pain killers, and.. um... i can't think of anything else at the moment...
Here's to a smooth, efficient treatment!

Hey Kitty,
looks like we share a brace day. Congrats on getting it done! These will definitely take some getting used to though.
Can't wait to see your progress!

I have to say day 3 was the worst. I told my husband I wanted to rip them out. But then suddenly on day 4 and 5 I was SO much better. And yeah the cleats are something else but you get used to those too. And I know what you mean about the lip. My husband says I look like I have Angelina Jolie lips now because they are so round . It's ok though. And remember to use your wax and be glad your ortho did not bracket that tooth. My canine is bracketed and up high and it cuts the crap out of my lip so wax stays on there 24-7. Congrats though and good luck.

Yesterday was pretty painful in regards to pressure. Today my teeth still hurt but only when I bite down on stuff.
Yes my BF brought me soup and chocolate bavarian for dinner on Thursday
Today I managed to polish off a salad with some difficulty. Chewing the cucumber was rather interesting but I got through it. I'm getting used to the feeling of them in and that my teeth are "harnessed". The front brackets don't bother me at all.
However the worst of it all has been those nasty nasty hooks on the outside of my molar bands. The lower left needs to have wax on it all the time otherwise it just stabs me.
Anyways here's a VERY bad picture of my teeth with braces on..I took it with my phone so that's why its awful. I'm taking pics hopefully every day with my good camera. The BF didn't bring around the camera cable this weekend so I won't be able to upload for a few days.
Sorry the pic is HUGE - I've resized it in Photobucket but it doesn't seem to be following through in the IMG code???

Yeah the hooks will get you. I have finally got used to them with occasional irritation. Your braces look good. can hardly tell they're even on there.
Also I found a website for a waterpik in aus.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/pjsackville/
They seem really expensive over there I know I only paid $60 us for mine and it was well worth it. But I also have a family and everyone uses it.
Hope everyday is better for you and keep smiling.
