My next appointment is 9/19.

My ortho will decide if it's time to remove my braces.

Can't wait to bite into a corn on the cob.

Thanks KK, bracedagain & Linda21. I haven't been on here in a while, because I am really upset with my so-called student/dentist. I don't know why I did not choose a private dentist instead of a Dental school. They're giving me the run around. The supervisor is no where to be found until JAN 9, 08. I am still wearing braces because this dentist is taking her time. I went to my regular dentist and she said there's not much they can do for me. Everything looks great. The on;y thing is that I have a missing tooth and I have to put something there else the gaps will return on the lower arch. I went back to this so-called ortho and told her after having x-rays and cleaning from my regular dentist, she's going to ask me what's the rush to deband them after she told me they will be off from September... after I paid over $4000 dollars of my hard earned money!

I will be there tomorrow to speak my mind and show here that the weak power chain she put to close 2 gaps came back one day after she removed the right wire that was placed previously. Again evidently she's slowing down the process.

I had corn on the cob last night, it was fantastic! I hope your situation gets better quickly! It's kind of hard to get any doctor's to squeeze you in during the holidays before everyone goes on vacation and to visit relatives.
Upper and lower 1st premolars extracted
Uppers braced 4/6/07 & Lowers braced 4/20/07
ceramic brackets and rectangular arch wires
Est. term: 30-36 months
De-banded: 3/04/09 w/ LBR and U&L Essix

Stop showing off on me smiley! I can eat it, but I can't be bothered with the mess. I prefer to wait, it will be sweeter. :)

KK wrote:Denise go talk to your ortho and find out what's going on. You need answers. Good luck! :rose:

It doesn't make sense for treatment to be slowed down, unless there's a very important reason for this. They don't stand to make any more money from you, and if you're taking up appointments when you don't need to, then you're actually costing more.

Here's to you getting to the bottom of this and getting your treatment on track ... and getting a plan for going naked!
This lazy student ortho changed the weak power chains and put a stronger power chain. She said that will do the work. I paid for my braces already. I only have to pay for the retainer which is $150. This location is far away from my home too. I hate going into the city every month. Now she has all these assistance doing my mouth. :x

If these two gaps are not closed by Monday, I have to go back there next week, because I need my braces off for the new year! I am going to take some pics this weekend and show you guys.

Thanks Karen good looking out!

Best of Luck getting your braces off before the New Year. That sounds good!

Hope you get to see your ortho more instead of just the assts./students.

And thanks to you too for stopping by my place!

Later! Ken.
They're still on.

I went to my ortho 2/05. My ortho took an impression of my upper arch for my retainer.

My next visit will be on 03/04. The upper braces will be off... leaving the lower arch until a later date. :x

This is a Dental school In NYC BraceAgain! My Ortho is a Post Grad. She made a mistake last December by using the wrong archwire and of course I had 2 gaps after she used the wrong wire. I addressed the matter to the professor and I was right. They changed the wire and all the gaps are closed on the lower arch.

The problem now is that I have one missing tooth at the back for the past 23 years... that's why I had the gaps in the first place. My regular dentist said there's not enough space for an implant. I don't have $5000 for 1 implant for the back of my mouth. I am thinking about getting a bridge. Right now they put a spring to get more space for either a bridge or implant to go there.

I don't want to waste $4000. I have to put something there so the gaps won't come back after I have my braces remove on the lower.
