Okay another much better picture. Still not the best cos I took it in PhotoBooth.

You can't tell in these but I think my incisors are starting to tip outwards. Or I could just be imagining things!

Today I haven't needed wax so I'm very happy. And I've been eating normal foods. Still with a little difficulty but its all good! I love the In-Ovation C's - you can hardly seem them in any of the pics I've taken. I wonder if my ortho will let me have some on the bottom too when I get them. I mean, they're not ceramic, they're plastic aren't they? :P

Damn!! That's not what I wanted to hear (About the ceramics) hehehe. Oh well. See what the ortho says anyway. Looking forward to my March 28 adjustment already!

Yeh my teeth have a LONG way to go - there'll be huge changes. Dr Schwartz is also really excited about how my teeth will turn out for the same reason.

So many people at work and school are like "I never even noticed".....I don't know how you CAN'T notice! Hahaa.

Hey there, just read your story and wanted to say CONGRATS on your movement already! That is spectacular!
Your teeth are a bit like my own. I was braced today and am looking forward to watching us progress together :-88

(ps. I call my tooth the "jabber tooth" as opposed to your "bung"! :-* )

Hi Kitty ~

Congrats on recently being braced! I will soon be braced - 3/3! We have the completely opposite problem. Whereas you have crowded teeth, I have lots of spaces on my top arch; bottom arch is perfect!

Hopefully by now you're feeling much better! :)

Thanks everyone!

Yep Katt, I managed to scoff a sandwich the other day. Food isn't too much of a challenge now. Haven't tried a steak yet.....We're going out to lunch next week (my department at work) for a colleague's 25 years at the company....Last time I went to this pub I had a 500g steak.....now....I dunno! Hehehe. I might have to try the pasta. Or something that doesn't get stuck in my brackets.

Its not that it hurts - I don't want to be around the boss(es) with chunks of food I can't remove right away Heh!

Kate I'll have to check out your blog to see your "jabber tooth" (hehehe such a cute name!) if I haven't already :D

Well I'm hoping my natural tendency to heal very quickly and be virtually bulletproof when it comes to colds, viruses and all those nasty things that can disable other people for weeks, will also help me move my teeth rapidly

Update!!

#40 Post by kittymeow84 »

Okay so I finally got the card reader off my boyfriend and have updated my pics.

Here is the photo from the first day in braces. Check out that gap between my incisors - its the one that opened that day! So quick!

And the second pic was taken today the 24th of Feb. Some changes yuh??

Thats my arch...lots of work to do there. I was silly and forgot to take photos of it on the first day :( EDIT: I just found a pic taken on the 17th and todays (24th) on the bottom :)

Sooo.....10 days in, feeling good! I keep forgetting I have them on and attempt to eat things like Cadbury Rocky Road block chocolate. Ow.....Still too much hassle to eat. My canines are still too tender to take a bite out of something as hard as chocolate. Not to mention its just a pain in the bum dealing with the nuts and cherries and .....oh it was such a bad idea!! Hehehe.

Well - my parents will get to see my braces soon. My sweetheart boyfriend bought me tickets to fly down to Tasmania and see them over Easter. He's going to New Zealand to see HIS family (grandparents etc) and I don't have enough leave to take the two weeks he's going for. I sooked cos I was gonna be lonely over Easter and so he bought me the flights for my birthday :D
My first adjustment is the week after Easter...My mum is pretty excited about my braces...she loves medicine and anatomy so all this high-tech teeth moving has her very interested.

Thanks jt2lang!! 8)

The last couple of days I've been like "meh - no change" but it's only today I realised that my front 6 don't touch my lowers any more! I remember the first day or two my incisors still bumped against my bottom teeth and now they don't. There's almost 1mm "overjet" and my upper right lateral incisor is now making contact with the lower crooked canine - never used to do that either.

So the wire is definitely doing what it's supposed to be doing - opening up my deep bite so the lowers can go on. However, it's the sort of change that is almost impossible to document with photos as it's near impossible to get the right angle to take photos of my upper arch...Also compounded by the lack of reference point.
You guys will just have to take my word for it! :P

You're teeth are moving. A bit at a time but hey whatever works.

Glad to hear about your trip home, have a great time and eat tons of good stuff.

And I think our adjustments are around the same time. Mine is April 2nd so you'll have to let me know how yours goes.

I'm really looking forward to my adjustment Katt - I want to be sore all over again so I know something's happening.

Not much has changed lately....My top teeth no longer touch my bottom ones at all when I bite down.

I wonder if the ortho will put a bracket on my bung tooth at my adjustment? I'll be telling him that the pain isn't unbearable and I could handle a bracket on there if it will make things move faster.

And how long til the lowers are on? Questions questions.

I know with my crazy tooth they haven't hooked anything up to the annyone bracket and won't until I have a decent amount of movement to pull it down. Be glad for now it's not there.
