Thanks for the responses jenny and kitty :)

I need to try to get a picture of this wire thing....it really hurts and I have to say that for the first time since I got my braces I am not wanting to eat...it feels as if I have a HUGE cavity in those bottom canines! That horrible cold sensitivity...kind of like someone sticking an ice pick in my lower jaw..definetly makes eating much less enjoyable! And that day I did the dumbest thing, thinking the sonicare toothbrush would be OK, I just about peed my pants from the pain!!! and that is NOT a joke!!

But everyday gets better so I am still very hopeful!!

I am starting to get gaps in my top front teeth..odd to see them, just looks kinda "hillbilly---ish"...but I know...they have to get apart so they can all move. I am still very happy I have them :) Pictures are great to keep you focused!

But I have to admit the adjustment days are not nearly as exciting as I thought they would be :)

I am still having some odd dreams like yours jenny, but now they for some reason revolve around magnetic things getting SUCKED into my braces ;) Not sure where THAT came from! LOL

Overall things are going well...my next adjustment is May 6th..so we will see if #1 I get the new chick..and #2 what new sadistic thing will happen! HEHE

Zuke, I've been alternating with my sonicare and my manual brush. Some of my teeth are sensitive from elastics again and I found that using a sensitive formula toothpaste and child's toothbrush really helps. My upper right teeth from the canine to molar and the lower left from the canine to molar are really sore too. Remember that you can take pain pills for the times your teeth are in much pain.

Adjustments will get much better and more exciting as you see the transformation really taking it's new shape.

New girl at my office is scary, I see all the kids squirming and hear a couple yelps here and there. Hopefully I won't get her until she's had a couple more months under her belt.

I enjoyed reading your posts, very upbeat.

I agree about the adjustments not being that exciting.

Sure I got a good response from my ortho but I was hoping for gushing and wowing and "oh my how much your teeth have moved!!"

Thanks Miss Smiley :)

I will try the sensitive teeth toothpaste and see if that helps, it is much better today, just cold drinks really set it off at this point.

Kitty..I was hoping for a gushing of comments also :-)) But he was just VERY irritated at those bottom canines :) Had to rein those puppies in I guess!

On a lighter note....one of my dogs decided to eat a bag of my elastics....THAT should be interesting coming out! LOL

Great progress. I go for my first adjustment soon so we'll see how that goes. Is the wire you have kinda like a spring? just curious

And the dogs that's funny. I thought my kids were bad but I think the dog wins.

Wow, amazing progress in two months! Can you imagine what it will be like in 2 more!?

It's especially noticeable on your top teeth.

And yay for no more grinding!

It's been quite awhile since I last checked in on your story

Its really great you're not grinding your teeth any more! Its little changes like that that you tend to overlook and they come up and surprise you one day :)

Hi Zuke,

Great movement! And, yes, that's great your not grinding/clenching anymore! I haven't clenched the last 2 nights either so I'm hoping I'll stop for good, too :D .

It's funny, I never thought my teeth were really crooked either but it's a whole new story when you take pics of the arches and see all those crooked teethies!! hehe
Keep smilin'! :)

Thanks everyone for the responses!

Yes it is soooo cool that they are moving. I was a little worried that they were not going to after the first month, which I know is totally not logical, HOWEVER ;)

I did take the advise on the toothpaste for sensitive teeth and that made a HUGE difference in those shooting pains in my canines! I am back to no pain at all (ducking and running from those with pain)...

This board is so awesome with all the positive responses and thoughts. Having braces can be a very up and down experience and it is nice having people that are going through the same thing to lean on!!

Thanks again!

Hey there everyone!

It seems like it has been forever! Braces don't give me a 2nd thought anymore and it is hard to believe that the 7th of May was my 3rd month in braces!

Things are moving a ton and I am really enjoying the changes :)

I go in for my next adjustment this Thursday and I was told I would be getting a new wire for sure on the top--and he did not know about the bottom...keeping my fingers crossed! He was very happy about all the movement! I had NO idea how crooked my teeth were until now!

So..here are the pics :-)) That one darn tooth on the bottom is finally starting to move! Stupid thing! And I am getting the "hillbilly" look....gaps rock!....ok....maybe not :)
