4th adjustment on 15 Feb 2008.

I was pretty excited for this one as my ortho told me that I'm about to start closing the gaps as alignment is almost done. However, it turned out that I had to address another question first i.e. my midline (upper teeth) which is 2-3 mm away from where it should be. See below:
Image
I know. The Devil is in the detail!! One would never notice those few mm but if I am going to fix my teeth, I might as well do it right.

Anyway I got elastics on one side to pull the upper front teeth in place. Right now it is a bit uncomfortable and it feels like the first days with the brace again. It is expected to take 1 month or so, then the teeth should be in place. After that I will be closing those freaky-looking gaps.

Although I'm still far from the goal, I'm starting to like the way my teeth look in the frontal view.

and now :

So at this point the decision about undergoing orthodontic treatment is starting to look like a good idea after a long time in the gutter emotionally! :D I hope that time will fly and that gap closing will be upcoming soon.

Here are the usual pics after 135 days of treatment.

Danish - your teeth look super!
When you look at your before pics and see how far you've come in such a short time - it must make you so happy!
The early days are tough, but you're through the worst of them now - and don't they feel like a million years away??
You're on the home stretch yipee!!

Hi there,
It's time to remove the dust and update my story here.
Well, alot of things have happened since the last entry in January. First of all, my teeth have been aligned, so the closing work has begun. This is the part I have been looking forward to. My front teeth slightly protrude after the alignment so it will not hurt to have them moved into the proper position. I use elastics to pull the teeth. I also use an elastic to move my midline which is a bit off center. According to the dentist the teeth will not move more than 1mm regardless, so it's going to take time. But I am going to enjoy this phase in the process. I hope that I'm faster than expected!

By the way, I have 6 months anniversary in a few days!! :-} I can't say that it went fast or that it was a piece of cake. It does get easier to accept the look and feel of metal in your mouth. I just hope that time will fly really fast in the next months!

Danish, welcome back from your break! Your teeth are looking fabulous and I bet those gaps will close really quickly. My gaps are almost closed up just shifting my midline and the ortho said "It should help close up the rest of the gaps." I can't wait to see your finished ivories sans metal.
