Congrats! The pictures of the spacers look uncomfortable... which make me even more thankful I never had to have them with my braces.

Love the colors!! Pink and purple totally rock :) I am hoping I get power chains so I will get to have colors on my teeth. My style of braces, Damon, do not allow for colors (at least at my ortho's office). I would totally get purple ligs if I could and I want purple powerchains, but I was told originally that I probably wouldn't have them.

In terms of your teeth moving so drastically, yes, it happens. Spaces will show up and teeth will almost float around. I have spaces forming overnight with my teeth, mainly because I have springs between my teeth on the wires to create the space... so my spaces were obvious and came on quickly.

How is your pain?

Congrats on finally being braced!!

Purple and pink are my two favorite colors!! Your "dark" pink ligs look the same color as my "baby pink" ligs when I was first braced. I had "really dark pink" ligs put on at my first adjustment (Monday) but I don't care for them as much. They almost look red! I think I'll give purple a try next time and then probably go back to my baby pink ones - which I LOVED!

Thank you everyone for your encouragement! Surprisingly I'm not in much pain, and its day 2 of being braced. Everything is fine so far. No canker sores/ulcers, no pain, brushing teeth is a bit tricky but I'll get the hang of it. The only thing which is bugging me is one annoying tooth which hits one of my bottom brackets. Its the worst when I'm eating or talking and i forget to be careful with my teethies!

I'm so glad that I went through with getting braces! I am so greatful for everyone here encouraging me to get them. Sometimes I even look in the mirror and like what I see! Now I did not expect that. I can't wait to see that wire straighten up!

Good luck mamakitty!! I hope you're banding goes well! Thank you for stopping by my story :D Tomorrow I am going to post one week pictures. Are you going to start a story? I would love to read it.

Yes Kristi that gap came up so quickly! It's even bigger now. Changes are so exciting.

And finally that annoying lower bracket doesn't get hit by my upper central anymore. Now both my upper centrals hit both my lower central brackets, but at a better position so it's not painful :D

Take care,
Pearls.

Thank you *melissa*!. :D That is so sweet! I am actually quite excited I have reached the one week anniversary. This week went by so quickly. I have well and truly settled into having braces. I am going to post up some one week pics tomorrow when I have some more time. By the way, how are your spacers treating you? Not too painful I hope!

Take care,
Pearls

You're welcome pearls! :D I remember making it to my one week and being so happy time was going by pretty quickly. Thats so awesome you have gotten used to your braces!!

My spacers aren't too painful right now. :D I've been taking Motrin and it's really helping.
Haha I thought getting purple was pretty cool too because I didnt even know they made purple spacers hehe.

Today marks my eighth day in braces. I am totally used to them now. Brushing is now a breeze, and I've pretty much got the hang of eating. I still get a bit shy/nervous around people who haven't yet seen me in braces and don't know that I have them  . But usually they are fine. They either won't say anything, or comment about them and usually talk about the time they had braces. So it's not so bad.

I am lucky, so far I have had no pain. The only change so far that I can see in my teeth is the gap between my top incisors, which appeared during the first night! :D However I'm sure that there must be other changes, because now both of my top front teeth hit my bottom brackets, as opposed to one hitting them.

Here are pics of my one week progess:

Hey pearls,

Woo! More then a week down! I'm the same way as you about being shy around people who haven't seen me yet in braces but at the same time, I hope to run into someone at Walmart to show them off! hehe

Yep, those toofers are on the move, I'm sure! Exciting, huh? I'm so glad you're doing well with them. :jump:
Keep smilin'! :)
