Hey Chicky :D
Had to pop over and see how your journey is unfolding!

Sounds like you've hit a rough patch with the brackets! I only had it happen once and know what a PITA it is.....hang in there and good luck.

Hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from here on out for you!!!

Hi metalmouthmommy,

Thanks for visiting!!! My main issue was with my upper wire between 5 & 6 on the right side. I'm praying for no more issues. My wire broke in the same place, three times in a nine week period. I don't want to go for plan "B", and my ortho wrote it on my chart, but I didn't want to ask. So far this stainless steel wire is doing it's job, and it looks like my stubborn upper right #5 is moving into place. I just hoping that I'm still on track despite these few bumps in the road.

I see that you're going to be in Florida, are you visiting The Mouse House??? Well, just prepare yourself for the afternoon downpours around 4pm.

Anyway, got to run and get the other twin to bed.

Catch ya later,

B

Ya know.......plan B never sounds so great, I hear ya there LOL!

Negative on the Mouse House. We haven't crossed that bridge yet. I want to wait until they are all old enough to really appreciate it. I don't want to throw down all of that cash and they've forgotten it by the following year! Hahahaha.
My Dad retired in Ft. Myers. We visit with him for a week, and then we are off to the beach in Siesta Key for a week. The trip is always wonderful, it's driving there (24hours) with four kids that aint so hot!!!

Hi Katie,

My son had his first trip to Disney at 4 months old and went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride with his father. His real trip was at Disneyland at almost 4.5 and I was 6 months preggo with the twins (not much fun for me) The girls had their first trip right after they turned 3. Now that I live only 20 minutes away, they've all had a chance to go a few times. It costs a fortune to get into the parks. It costs $300 for a family of 4 and that includes parking. Don't forget food and souveniers. Crazym huh!!

I can't believe that you're driving. My kids get antsy being in the car for 2 hours! Have a great time and I'll catch up with you soon!

Hi Everybody,

I made it to my next adjustment with no more breakages! Anyway, I had my fifth adjustment yesterday, time flies when your having fun! Nothing to exciting, I had a gap that opened up on my lowers so I got another new powerchain 6-6 (gap is almost closed), and I'm sporting a powerchain on the uppers, from 6-6 and let me tell you, when I woke up this morning, my teeth are killing me! I was a little dissappointed at my adjustment b/c my ortho was going to start detailing on my uppers, but since I've had all the wire issues, that will happen at the my next appointment along with IPR.

At this point I wonder if I'll being finished in the 12 months estimated time???

I will try and get some new pics up in the next day or so.

Hi B,

Great news on getting to your next adj. without any issues! :D Sorry to hear you're in pain from those PC  but, just think, it means something is happening(obviously, since you said the gap is almost closed...wow!).

As for the estimated 12 months, I guess "estimated" would be the main word :? . I'm hoping you're close to that and not too much over, but having them on for a few extra months wouldn't be so bad considering your smile and teeth will last you a lifetime!!

Looking forward to pics!!
Keep smilin'! :)

Hi Denise,

As far as the powerchains go, the only time they've been really bothering me is when I've gotten up. The top more so than the bottoms. Thanks for the heads up on the IPR and powerchains. I'll medicate before that appointment. This has been the first time after an adjustment that I haven't even taken any OTC pain relievers, so I guess it's a good thing.

I've realized that as far as the estimated time frame is, it is what it is and I don't want to rush perfection!

Catch up with you soon!

HI Jenny,

I'll get over the pain, it's only temporary! As long as my wires stay in one piece, I'm happy!

Thank you for your positive words regarding my estimate. That's exactly what it is, we never know what is going to happen when you might hit a small bump in the road. Hopefully I will come close to the estimated plan.

Hi Everybody,

Well, I went in for my 6th adjustment this past Tuesday. Not to much excitement going on. My TMJ on the right side has been acting up ( my ex has been stressing me out big time). My bite is totally messed up.

Anyway, my ortho is leaving my top arch alone. He decided to take off the powerchain. I was hoping that the detailing was going to start, but that will be at my next visit. The space between my lower centrals came back, I also had IPR done on the bottom as well. I have a power thread tied along my four incisors as well as a powerchain from 6-6. My lowers are defintely on the sore side. The spaces are almost closed up!

My next appointment in five weeks, it's a long one and I know that I'll be getting more IPR done, hopefully it will be on top and who knows what else.

I also had my 6 month evaluation and everything is great... it also says that I'm on schedule for completing my treatment. We shall see.

Take care,

B

Hi Everybody,

Long time no write, had lots of issues trying to log on here, but finally I got things to work.

I just had my 11th adjustment yesterday and lots of things have gone on, I've still had issues with the wire breaking between the right 5 & 6, but it's only happened once in the last five months. I've also keep getting a space between the lower centrals, and now it's finally closed. I just have a little more detailing to go and some spacing to close on the uppers and some bite adjusting and hopefully I'll be done. I did ask the dreaded how much longer.... and I'm looking at another 3 months. Oh well, I'd rather have perfection than an OK job!!!

I'll post some pics later.

Have a great one!!!

Looking at your picture post in June, you did have VERY straight teeth and the bite is looking much better.
I'm glad you're sticking it out to get "perfect" teeth rather than just settling for what may look good right now.
Happy Holidays! The 3 months will fly by!

Update:

I had my 12th adjustment on January 15th. Well I hit my one year anniversary and I past my 12 month estimate. No biggie, I realized that my teeth are being somewhat stubborn. I asked how much longer at my appointment the month prior and my ortho told me at least 3 more months. I can't see my teeth being done in another 2 months since my bite is so out of whack and hasn't even been worked on. I figured that I'm not going to ask anymore and I'll just have to be pleasantly surprised!

So, I had some IPR done inbetween my upper centrals and laterals and I have a powerchain from 6-6 and an additional zing string from 3-3. I have these embrasure spaces and we're trying to make better contact. My teeth hurt for a week after that. My lowers have remained closed...YEAH!!! Just have a powerchain from 6-6. I must get some updated pics.

My next appointment is on 2/12 and looking foward to more IPR....NOT!!!
