haha thats funny, on my computer they took up a whole computer screen. I will post new ones when I get a chance. This weeked was interesting. On Friday I took the day off to get used to talking, and it wasen't working so well...so my brother brought over some whisky and let me have a couple of drinks and we went bowling. Let me tell you, I think that it was the best thing that I could have done! It made the pain go away and I was able to do something fun! Now please dont mistake this that I am going to be drinking to get my pain away, but for the day after pain it was sure nice not to think about it.

Saturday I had to go to work at the circus and it was nothing short of extremley painful! I took yesterday off and putted around the house and slept a lot. Today I am back at work and feeling great! I have to go see my ortho on my lunch because when I bite down too hard the appliance will click and my whole jaw will be forced to move to one side. I dont think that it is supposed to do that.

Eating has been a chore. Food gets stuck in all sorts of places and I have not eaten a solid meal in about 4 days. My teeth don't touch so it has been jello and mashed potatoes for me. Well I will get those pictures when I can get over to my mums house (she has the camera).

Happy Monday!

Katie

Katie, a drink or two sounds like the best kind of medicine, as well as a day off to rest. I hope a small adjustment can get that click sorted out as I agree that doesn't sound right. It must be catching up somewhere it shouldn't.

Have you got a Waterpik? They are great for getting food out of those awkward little places.

I hope you soon feel better, and I'm looking forward to seeing the larger pics. When you resize them, it doesn't always show up straightaway on your own computer, because the originals are still in your browser cache.

Wow Katie, you have very nice teeth. Once you get the overjet taken care of, you are going to have an amazing smile!

The herbst doesn't look too bad, but it's hard to see it in your photos. I hope it doesn't bother you too much.

Thanks for saying I have pretty teeth :D it makes me feel good! Yes, Lisa I have a waterpik and it is great! I will brush and floss and then use my waterpik and I am amazed at what junk still comes out. I think that I brush at least 5 times a day! Well I'll try to get the pictures posted tomorrow.

Well I know that it has been a while since I posted but I figure I would give a short update.

I had my tonsilis removed on April 1st and MAN! That was a though recovery!!! But I am feeling much better and I am back to work.

I went for my first herbst adjustment a week ago and had nothing done. The ortho said my jaw is responding very well and that it is holding in the correct position just like she wants it too. Also good news it comes off in December!!!! :D

Well braces are coming in about 11 weeks time...and I am very excited.

Well I better get back to work, my boss dosen't like me to waste time...go figure huh? Have a good day everyone!

Hello to all! It has been several months since my last posting but my life has been very busy to say the least.

I have had 2 herbst adjustments and my 3rd is on July 8th. Last adjustment they added a clip to my left side to adjust my midline...nothing to painful just a little strange feeling, but I am used to it now.

I left my boyfriend on April 18th, after he did not come home on our 4 year anniversary. We have since then moved completley out of the house and I have not looked back.

It looks like I am going to be getting my braces in August, but I am thinking about postponing until December when I get my herbst off...I GET IT OFF IN DECEMBER :D Since I am now on the dating scene, having the herbst and braces may be a little terrifying! Maybe I could get some support on this one!

Thanks for reading and I will post some new pics when I get a new camera (the ex got mine!). Cheers!

Well hello all! Today I had my 3rd herbst adjustment...and whoa! it was a big one! I had two "links" as I call them added to each side increasing my edge to edge by two millimeters. It is really making my jaw ache but I am glad to see progress. Over the next few days my teeth will start to ache as well because they move a LOT during the days after an adjustment.

I have a dentist appointment this Thursday, and it will be interesting because it is my first cleaning with the herbst on. 6 more weeks until another adjustment. Cheers! :D

Well I went to the ortho yesterday and excellent news! I am gettng my herbst off Dec 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yahoooooo. The same day I will get a full rack of braces. InOvation Clear on the top and metal on the bottom. I am really excited and nervous at the same time. I am newly dating this guy and he has no idea I am in the midst of treatment. Can anyone give me some advice on how to let him know that his new girlfriend will soon be a braceface? Thanks all!

Well today was the day! I am offically a brace face. I got the herbst appliance almost completley removed which was extremley painful. For the ortho to get the back molar caps off they used this tool that looked simliar to pliars and yanked them off. When they moved to the tops it was very sensitive so the ortho decided to leave them on unitl my next appointment when she will take them off and band my back molars for braces.

I now have the InOvation metal on the bottom and InOvation Clear on the top. I could not be happier. The ortho also put a power chain along my bottom teeth. The whole experience of being braced was not too bad and I am excited to have them on.

It is a about 5 in the evening here and I got them on around 9 this morning and the pain is a sever ache and I am going to go to the mart and get some ice cream and mashed potatoes :) My next appointment is Jan 6. Cheers!

Today is my second day with my new hardware and there is a lot a soreness. I am taking some vicoden I had left over from my tonsil surgery earlier this year and it is helping. I have yet to see my boyfriend and quite honestley I am really nervous about him seeing me. His reactio was not what I was hoping for.

I know it is probably normal for every new braceface but I feel completley unattractive. Being a Leo myself I love being in the spotlight and these braces certainly do not help that. I am feeling quite down on myself right now and have spent all day yesterday and today in bed. My cousin and her friend are coming to see me tonight and some pals from work are throwing me a celebration bonfire. Hopefully there is a good turnout.

Any words of advice on the whole lack of confidence thing would be really appreciated! Cheers

Just hold your head up high and smile! It'll all be worth it in the long run. I know what you're going through. I had a horrible habit of thumb sucking and had the Herbst, too. You seem to be handling it a lot better than I did. I wore mine for about a year. I get my braces off in 24 days and looking back on it now, I am so glad I went through all of this. I would for sure do it again. You'll be so excited when you get to the end. Trust me, it will all be worth it. :D
