I have a very small mouth so my two upper eye teeth are high....there was not enough room for them to come down. They are going to pull both of them and then I will get braced! I've heard and read that these are the strongest teeth in the mouth. Not looking foward the the extractions but can't wait to get the braces on so I can get past the pain and soreness and get used to them. Then looking forward to the final result.
I will need treatment for approx 18-22 months with the Damons.

Ok. So you won't be getting the same teeth extracted as I did. It is all worth it, I promise! Even though I think the extractions were the worst part so far for mesuzeeq22 wrote:I have a very small mouth so my two upper eye teeth are high....there was not enough room for them to come down. A lot of people probably think I'm weird because I LOVE going to the dentist for cleanings and to my ortho appointments! I wish I could have more appointments. After all, I am going to school for dental hygiene! Plus, I love my doctors!
I hope everything starts off well in your journey! Are you getting the teeth extracted before or after your braces are on?
My treatment was estimated at 24 months. I've been braced for 9 months so far. I do hope that my treatment time ends up being less because everyone has commented on how much progress my teeth have made in such a short amount of time. We started working on my bite last week.
I don't know......I guess they are different teeth than what you had pulled. They are the third tooth from front center....
I will have the braces put on after the extrections. That day is 10/31 and brace day is 11/4!
Good luck with your school also. Don't you notice everyone who works in either a dental or ortho office has great teeth!!!

I went to my dentist for a cleaning yesterday. I love my hygienist! We talked a lot about the fact that I was going to school to become a rdh. She was very supportive.
When my dentist came in he couldn't say enough about how great my teeth were looking and how he wouldn't be surprised if I got out of braces sooner than my estimated time.
He also asked what changes I had noticed in my smile. When I mentioned my midline he freaked! In a good way
He said that I was the first patient to ever mention their midline. My dentist and hygienist both said that they thought I was going to school for the right thing if I already knew what that was
Has anyone else had trouble with elastics staining your clear ligs or powerchains? Mine are yellow where I've been wearing the elastics.

I had an adjustment yesterday afternoon. I got a bigger wire on top. I think my ortho called it a triangle wire and I didn't catch the size. And purple ligs on bottom! haha I was excited about trying out a color.
Other than that everything is still that same. I'm still in elastics. I don't go back until December 1.
Does anyone else get depressed when nothing really big happens at your adjustments? When I got elastics I was excited about my treatment again. But not so much this time.
I just keep telling myself that things are moving and progressing even if you can't notice it yet.
Also, my assistant marked my midline (I'm assuming that is why) with a Sharpie on my new wire to line it up with my old wire and then put the power chain over it
So I have a nice black mark on this big 'ol wire that I can't brush off because it is under the powerchain. Any tips on how to remove the marker or should I just drop into the office?
I'll try to get pictures tomorrow! I hope everyone is doing well!

I am the same way when it feels like nothing major has happened at adjustments. And it's frustrating when they make you go through so many weeks before you come back! haha
They marked my wires the same way putting the power chains on after and I think even if you can't brush it, it should "dissolve" from your saliva.
Can't wait to see the new pics!

Only two more days (Jan 28) until I've been braced for a year! I can't believe it! I used to think that I would have bad teeth forever and now they're getting better every day!
I had an appointment this morning. I was in there for an hour! My appointments usually only take 20 bu they kept me waiting forever!
Just the usual changes of ligs and I'm finally in class II elastics. I was wearing the triangle formation for about 4 months. Hopefully the time I have to wear these will about the same.
I've still got two gaps; one between my left lateral incisor and canine and a small one where I had the extractions on the right
My ortho said that the one between my lateral incisor and canine should should finally close up now that we've moved on to class II. I just noticed the extraction gap getting bigger a week or so ago.
I'll get some pictures on here when I get home from work.
Hope you all are doing well!

Its been a while since I've visited! Not much has changed with my braces.
I'm am now 1 year and 3 months into treatment! That means, if my all goes as planned, that I only have about 9 months left
I had a space between my left lateral and canine for a really long time (5 months or so). I was wondering why it hadn't began to close since all of my other gaps closed fairly quickly. Finally at my most recent appointment my ortho decided to check to see if the back bracket had been damaged and wasn't allowing the wire to move so that the space could close. She said that sometimes when they clip the wire in the back that it clamps down on the bracket and closes the hole.
Sure enough, that was it. No telling how much extra time that added onto my treatment..I was a little mad about that.
They popped the damaged bracket off and put a new one on. I must say it was nice to be able to feel my tooth for a few minutes
I'm still in class II elastics.
A few days ago I began to find it difficult to bite down and I can't chew my food very well today. When I do try to bite down my right jaw hurts. Should I bring this to my ortho's attention now or wait until my next appointment in a couple of weeks?
