Liams brace journey by his mum (sjsarre)

#1 Post by sjsarre »

OK, so it was a while ago that we posted that Liam was going to have his brace.. I thought it would be good for him to see my brace journey which is still on here and my blog..

There are a few things that have delayed the brace, but I do think now he is older and his jaw has grown that his teeth are ready for the challenge!!

It was two years ago we decided on a brace, he had a tooth extracted to make room 18 months ago and over the last 6 weeks he has had four more teeth removed.

Two weeks ago he had mini screw implants in his upper left and right gum and today was brace day!!

We've started a blog just like the blog I did and we thought we would share his journey on here as people were so good to me on here when my brace journey started!!

Hi there

I'll have to read up on your story.. It's been a while since i've been on the forum.

Yes Liam is feeling the pain today but he realises it's worth it!!

I'm down to wearing my retainer every 3rd day but i've also had it cut down now to only cover the top 8 front teeth rather than 12.

Will post back on Liams brace in a week or so...

I know I am amazed myself... He is being good and wearing his elastic 24/7. He knows the score with having to look after his brace having seen me with mine and the routine I had to go through.

Hi guys

Long time no post! Wish i'd had time to keep this thread up to date, but its been so busy! My son has an operation for scoliosis on 10 March, but we found out today that less than a year of being braced and his brace will come off on 2 March - WOW!!!

Anyway here are the current photos - there is just a little gap to close on the lowers and thats it!! He will have his front teeth shaved more square aswell...

Just a little update. The gap on the lower is now completely closed, it closed within a week of the adjustment.

Liam had the hygenist yesterday in preparation for Brace off! Its so exciting..

When its off i'll post some pics.
