Brika, your pictures made me grin ear to ear. I am so excited for you - look at all that movement already! VERY inspirational!

I love your pictures - especially how you turned them into flash animation. Makes you feel like your actually getting to watch them move. :)

kayleighkelley, Dreams -- thank you both so much! Hearing that my progress has been inspirational to you makes me so happy...that's the whole reason I posted them here in the first place! :) I wish you both the best of luck on your own journeys!

My 2nd adjustment is in a week... I'll post photos again when I get back from it!

Hey guys!

I made it to the second adjustment! It came at the 13 week point, and wasn't too bad, pain-wise. I haven't had any achy/wiggly teeth in a few weeks now, so there wasn't any real pain caused by the pressure as things were getting changed. It was the first time I had the archwires taken out completely, though...what an odd feeling! I actually couldn't wait for her to put them back in!

I ended up with a new wire on the bottom: a .016, same size as the top now. (But they're still pretty flimsy wires, so I don't think the soreness will be as bad as I was expecting!) I also got a new spring coil on the top. I can feel the pressure already...Oh boy, hello ibuprofin.

The assistant let me stick with wire ties on the top when I told her I was worried about clear ligs staining. Prior to that, she put silver ligs on the bottom. I would have asked for colors, but I figured I would be getting wire ties again and by the time I realized she was putting ligs on, she had already done a few of them. Oh well, maybe next time I'll get something pretty!

All-in-all, my ortho seemed very pleased with my progress! Here are some [mighty] morphing [power] gifs to show you all. Hopefully they're not too creepy! ;)

(I couldn't find angles that perfectly matched from a front point of view...these are close enough to give you an idea, though!)

These last two show the change after each adjustment. Maybe I can keep this going all the way through my treatment, and by the end I'll have a whole movie! :P

Thank you so much, guys! I really appreciate the support. :D
I get so excited when I compare then & now photos. It's amazing how little it seems to change daily, but how much it adds up over time!

These new powerchains really seem to be doing their job...I compared a photo I took on just this past Sunday to one taken after the adjustment, and that lower canine to the left side of the photo moved quite a bit just between then and now! (My teeth are feeling it, too...owwwie!)

changes09--I took a peep at the computer while I was waiting yesterday, and the treatment estimate was set at 20-24 months. So I still have a looong time left! :P

Ken--omg, I love the turtle emoticon! Heehee!

Thanks again!

Wow- what amazing progress! That is just incredible it is happening so fast for you! And the photos are so cool, how do you do that fade in- out effect? I still can't figure (okay I have not really tried!) out how to post my pics, and actually am a little nervous to do it!

Whoa. Those pics, and your progress, are AMAZING! I love the way it illustrates the transition your teeth are making. You must be very pleased with your progress! I hope you can keep this up throughout your treatment, too. How cool it will be to watch the entire thing!

I'm especially impressed by how fast your extraction gaps have been closing. Especially the gap on your left side in your lower jaw. Really impressive
