Arghh... my bracket popped off the other day (on tuesday), although it was my own fault for eating something hard. I feel so stupid now! I went it and got it fixed on Wednesday though, so it wasn't all that bad, expect my ortho was on holiday so I saw another ortho.
I'm kinda looking forward to my first adjusment on Wednesday!

So, I had my first adjustment today. It went...okay. Was quite painful when the ortho was taking the ligs out and tightening the wire.

He said that the bottom arch was looking well and moving, so he put on a thicker wire. On the other hand, the top hasn't moved as much as he would have liked it to, so I didn't get a new wire. He just THIS IS SPAM it.

Had my 2nd adjustment on wednesday. It wasn't as bad as the 1st adjustment. My ortho said i'm making good progress. He changed the bottom and top wire this time. I can even feel and see the difference myself.

I'm so glad i went with my decision to get braces done. Defo, not something i regret! :D

Hey there guys!

Sorry not been on here for a while.

grneydfairy - I think my progress is going quite well. Will try and post some pics sometime soon - once I get some more time and figure out how to do it!!

Just has my otho appointment today - had no idea what he has done. Im not very happy with my ortho as he doesn't explain what he is doing!! All I know is I've got some criss-cross wires on the top and a big lig that goes from the extraction space to the end of my teeth on either side. Im guessing thats to close the gap? What do the criss-cross wires do?? - Didn't even realise I had them until I got home and looked in the mirror!..Although I thought it was something odd as it wasn't like any of my other adjustments so far. .....Could anyone please shed some light..

Thanx in advance. :)

I have criss cross wires alonside my archwire between my teeth either side of two extraction sites on the bottom of my mouth.
They are there to help close the gaps so I expect that is what yours is for too.

Had my adjustment on monday - oouch!!.... my teeth are killing now. Got a new wire and ELASTICS!! - they are such a pain and changing them is really annoying :(

How long did everyone else have their elastics for? Throughout the remaining treatment? or just a month or so?

How often do you change them? Once a day or everytime you eat?

So I went in y'day - and they didn't even mention the missed appointment!!..i was abit worried about that!!

..However I was told that next appointment would be the one where i have my top and bottom braces removed!!

...now i am really happy about getting them out, but i dont think my gaps have fully closed up. I told my ortho about this..and he made me look really stupid by saying that they have.

Some of my family member also do not feel that one of my teeth are still out of place. Do you think its like this because i need to have it crowned?..so the crown would be an extra layer on top to line up with the rest of the teeth?

Im quite concened about this :(
