I'm glad your procedure went well! Hopefully that'll be the last "bump in the road" you encounter on your journey. :)

Thank you Brika! I hope you're right!

Been to the orthos today. The gaps on my lower arch are closing nicely, the upper arch has closed 3mm but the biggest gap hasn't closed much so I have had a lump of cement put in to stop my molars meeting which may help.

I also have a new elastic on that side, I still have a Louie elastic on my left but now have a Roger on my right and it runs from different points to pull the back teeth forward (looks abit odd though!) I have also had a new upper wire and the powerchains have gone for now. I have bright pink ligs as I'm going on a night out next weekend and my top is pink!

I have achy teeth now and a headache :( Will be okay in a day or so I'm sure!

Yes, againbrace!! Yay!!!

Well I had another adjustments last week and everything is still on target for debonding NEXT MONTH!!! :D :D :D :D

I've had some minor reshaping (slenderising) of my front teeth and more to come next time. Its hard to see any difference though. I have torquoise ligs for now too, other than that theress no much to report.

One thing I did notice is how sensitive my teeth felt when the wire was removed, I suppose they will feel VERY sensitive at first when they are off completly! Not long now.....

My next appoitment is in about 5 weeks....

Hi all

I had a fustrating appointment with my ortho last week.

I arrived at the hopspital and they couldn't find my appoinment, it turned out they had cancelled it because my ortho had fallen down the stairs! (she ok, just)

Anyway I batted my eyelashes :) and got seen by someone else, they did most of the things that were planned, took off some brackets and repositioned them to leval my front teeth up and changed the wire but they didn't do any more reshaping, he said it could be done next time.

Next time was supposed to be my debonding appointment so I might have to sacrafice that to get the reshaping done it seems, if I do I hope I can get them taken off soon afterwards, I guess I'll just have to see how it goes when I get there but suddenly my debonding date looks uncertain :(
The levaling up has worked already, the wire looked quite wonky when I came out but looks much straighter now :)

I have a scale and polish booked for a few days after my last appointment, can't wait for that whether they are off or not!

In an hour and a half I will know if my braces are coming off today!!

I'm so excited but trying not to be as it might be a few more weeks yet if they do the final reshaping today.

I have booked a holiday for 26th August and I want them off for that so if they can do the reshaping and I can get debonded before then I will have it done. If not, it will be today (fingers crossed!)

The rehshaping would be the icing on the cake, and it seems silly to come this far and not finish it off but the last time my ortho tried to do some it made hardly any difference so I have to weigh that up.

I'll report back later!

I'm naked!! (well semi - I will get to that)

My braces came off this morning after all :D

I'm really happy with the results, they are not cosmetically perfect because my teeth weren't exactly right in shape and size, but I'm so grateful and pleased with the results.

The debonding process wasn't too bad, there were a few brackets that didn't want to budge and it got uncomfortable whilst she tried to get those off, the worse bit was getting one of the metal rings off my molar, one of them was very tight and it was quite painful, almost like I was having an extraction without pain relief!

Anyway she got them off eventually, took my screw out, got the cement off, had them cleaned and polished, had some slight reshaping and took moulds for retainers.

A short while later, I colleceted my Essix retainers and practiced putting them on and taking them off (nightmare!!, I'm sure I will get the hang of it but I imagine having to go back because I can't get them on or off!) I have to wear the lower retainer day and night apart from meals and cleaning for two weeks then just at night fpr a year as they have included a minor modification (a tooth had started to rotate out of place slightly) and the uppers at night only for a year. They don't feel bad on, I talk slightly funny with the upper one on but that will get better I'm sure.

I'll post some before and after photos when I get the chance :)
