(8/3) Movement seems to be slowing down. I have noticed that my overbite had changed a little. However, my coil has been working my nerves these past six weeks. I had to put wax on it at least three times a week. I know that isn't big for some but for me it is. I usually don't wear wax and I don't take medicine. One good thing has happened, my coil has created enough space for my two teeth to completely rotate. I hope they remove the coil at my next adjustment. I tried to get some good pictures of the space that the coil has created but it hasn't gone pretty well. However, you can kinda tell from the pictures that my teeth have rotated. I think that they may have a mm or so to go.
(8/10) Back from the dentist today and I got my coil removed. YES! My wire goes all the way back and Oh I am soo excited. Dr. F. didn't change any of my wires to my dismay. But I have an appointment if four weeks so hopefully things will improve enough for a change. Oh yeah, I still have a powerchain to help finish the rotation.

My wire now extends to the back! I know that it already did this but I couldn't see it beacuse of the coil and powerchain that were covering it.

I am fresh from getting my teeth cleaned today. I finally got to ask my dental hygentist what this god awful think is on the back of my teeth. I said it is a pupus or something like that I can't really remember (I will look that up later) anyway, he said that most people have it on the back and front of their teeth. I clearly have it on the back. Anyway he said that there isn't any decay on it and he just cleaned the plaque off. I asked if it could be removed and he said of course, but maybe I could become friends with it (he likes to joke a lot). As he cleaned my teeth I noticed that he kept talking to me, why would he do that if his hands are in my mouth. Silly right! He said I'm doing OK with my brushing but I need to floss more that I do, I really don't like doing it! It is time consuming and.... i just don't like it. I pointed to all of the areas that I noticed that needed to be cleaned and he scrubbed and picked to my desire. Finally he polished and we were done. He then called in the head dentist and she gave me a lecture and a really boring story (she was like i cross my heart and swear to God stick a needle in my eye) on periodontal disease (which I have). She was like you have to come to the dentist every three months. I wanted to say...clearly I'm here and skip the story lady, just tell me to keep coming because I need to keep these kiddies clean and healthy. I didn't say that because that would be terrible rude. Anway, I got another bag of goodies (tooth brush, proxibrushes and floss) and I was out the door. Next up new wires!

Don't you hate the the long boring stories the dentist like to tell. Or just clean , brush and floss like crazy and they probably will stop with the long winded sermons.

I thought that she was coming in to make sure everything was going great. Who knew that I was in for a lecture? I have to keep everything clean so that I won't have to go through that again!

So here is a front view of my teeth. There has been a clear rotaion of my lateral incisor (I looked that up). Also there has been various movement of my other teeth (spacing).





Here is a bottom view of my teeth. I had two rotations here. I placed white circles over the 1st Bicuspid and Cuspid. They had to rotate 180 degrees. As you can see I have an attached tongue. I was told that I should probably get it cut. I don't think that I should, if it isn't causing me any problems why mess with it!

Today's appointment was a regular snore fest. I went in, got new wires then I was out of the office. Oh yeah, I did get some more wax. So here are the new wires




I was told that these were bigger however, I can not tell the difference. They could have me in the same set of wires and I wouldn't know! I asked to get my two front teeth shaved down but they said no since they were not hiting the bottom brackets. I did get to brush without my wires in. However, I did not get a good brush because the assistant was watching/waiting for me.

My sides here. My right side is getting much better since my rotated teeth are almost done. Left side needs some rubber bands to close that gap. Man I ready for that! The sooner the better

Bottom is lining up better, You can clearly see my rotated teeth have moved in to place but there is a space behind the last one. Hopefully with this new wire it will move into place.


Top Arch is much better that before, again spacing issues. (picture is upside down but that is the best that I can do!)

Time to update!

Since the addition of my new wires I had developed a space in-between my two front teeth. I was horrified at this development and I had to keep it for an entire month. To me the gap seemed spacious, like I coul put a sofa between the teeth. So here it is



When it came time for me to go to my nexy ortho appointment. I immediately told Dr. F that I hated my new space and it needed to be fixed. I also told him about a lower tooth that started leaning on another. He replied that it was only slightly leaning and that could be fixed also. I was extatic!!!! Now I have a power chain connected my four upper front teeth. Since I got the power chain added my horrible space has closed. Also, I think that there was something wrong with a bracket and they added a clasp of some sort to close it. Here is my new grill!!!



Next apt. November 4th new spacers and November 9th new brackets

I am back from my ortho appointment and I just had some spacers shoved in-between my second and third molars. I really hope that I am not getting molar bands placed on my third molars because these teeth are placed really close to my jam and I do not want to be in for that kind of pain! I also got one of my brackets fixed. The assistant wrapped a wire around the bracket then twisted the wire several times. I can barely see the wire! So now, that bugger should not open. I have another appointment on the ninth to get brackets changed and added. I really hope those new brackets are not going when I think they are. Things are really looking up!

I feel like I have come along way with my new besties (braces). I can honestly say that they are now so much a part of me that I don't remember not having them. It has been seven long months and I am ready for the final product. As I was reading an ortho's blog, he mentioned that patients always want to know when their debanding date will arive. I haven't asked my ortho this question because I constantly pray that the day will be sooner rather than later. I am always moving up a wire and new hardware is always being added. Maybe I'll ask that question at my nest adjustment lol! Dr. F. removed my left front bracket of my lower jaw because it needed to be repositioned. This bracket isnt as shiny as my others so it really stands out. Sides still look the same so I didn't post a pic, hopefully with the molar bands added things will look a little better. Also I noticed that my arches have widened alot and I have square wires on top and a round one on the bottom.

Anyway here are the new wires!





Molar bands have been added on my 2nd molars. (I think wisdom teeth are the 3rd molars) I also started to brush my tongue to get rid of that randomwhite stuff. These molar molar bands constantly rub on my jaws! I am using wax, wax, and more wax.

This month I had another cleaning. This time my regular hygenist wasn't in and I had someone new . This woman poked and proded every facet of every tooth. Clearly she was doing her job. I however, was in soo much pain. After my detailed cleaning she asked my why my gums were bleeding. I replied when I brush and floss I rarely bleed. I had so much blood in my mouth I could wipe my tongue with a tissue and see blood. It was terrible. Then she proceded to tell me that my gums were growing onto my teeth and in some areas my gums were inflamed. I replied that since many of my teeth have been moving together, my gums didn't want to move out of the way so they have been squeezed. Personally, I noticed this already. Anyway she told me I need to really brush my gums. I told her that as of that day that I would. Then she tried to sell me a $110 dollar toothbrush because my toothbrush is wack (she said). I told her I'll see. So after visiting the dentist I went to CVS and brought an Oral-B toothbrush with a two-minute timer and several heads. Since I have been brushing with this toohbrush my teeth seem to feel cleaner. Cost of this toothbrish $30.00 (CVS sale proce $5.99). Three days later I had an Orto apointment. I recieved new wires. I saw on the paper that I have 18x25, now this could be wrong I should have asked the ortho but he just changed my wires and I was out the door. I now noticed that I have a square wire on the top and bottom. 7-8 more months to go!! So here are my teeth.

January

By my count I have been braced for nine months! There have been some great changes in the beginning of my treatment and it seems like things have slowed down. On the 4th I got a new wire on the bottom and a wire tie on a bracket that kept opening. I had a power chain placed on my four front teeth to close the spacse as the hygenist said. However I thought I was going to get one on my entire top row. Boy was I wrong. I still have spacing on my right side, I hope they fix that soon. Here are the pics.



February

This month I began a countdown of payments. I think that I have 7 or 8 left! I doubt that has anything to do with wire changes. On to my latest appointment..... This month was the first time that I have waited to get my wires changed. Usually, I am in and out in 10 minutes but this time I waited for 20 minutes. I olny noticed the time because I was on facebook and I looked up at the clock and said on my is that the time!. The ortho sent over one of the workers (assistant i suppose) anyway he put an 18x25 (damon on the top) and the 18x25 stainless steel on the bottom. The ortho came over and said she was supposed to get the stainless steel on the top also. The assistant said oh no, I guess I second guessed my self. Like was he serious, its my mouth! fix that!! The ortho replied well its ok on the top ill just ajdust her bottom because its tough to get the wires in. That man took forever to open the doors (he was soo gentle). Then he shoved and pushed just close the doors on my brackets. I guess it was the quiet before the storm. Then I was out the door. Next appt is in six weeks. I haven't had an appointment in six weeks in a long time. SMH.... when is the end? Please let me know
