Hello everybody!! My name is Miranda and I am 23 years young. I had my 4 pre molar teeth extracted on October 8th and I just got my top braces on today!!! I have no pain right now and I went out to Wendy's and got a burger and cheese fries right after I was banded. Ha! I am soo excited I keep checking my teeth out in the mirror every 10 mins! The teeth extractions did not hurt although they numbed me up with lots of novacain and they gave me nitrous oxide. I wish I would have taken my I-Pod in the room with me because you can hear some crackling when they are pulling your teeth out.
I have always wanted braces since I was in middle school. My dad took me for my moldings and x-rays and they told me I needed teeth pulled and my dad said NO WAY! He didn't want to see me go through the pain. So I have hid behind my smile ever since
I am so glad I made my own decisions to get my teeth extracted and to get braces on. I will have them on for 27 months. As you can see I have a small mouth and my teeth are very crooked. I will be getting my bottom braces on next week (Oct 28th). YAY! I will keep posting pics on here with updates.
Congrat's on getting your braces on. I'm 23 as well and have had braces for eight months now. I'mhoping to calabrate my 25th bday without braces. It's been easier than I thought before I started. It seems like you have a very positive attitude towards your braces, and just wait until you start seeing progress. I'm glad that you're not finding them uncomfortable. Good luck, and keep us posted!
hey I am 22 and I have braces, it kinda makes you feel younger than you are. Yeah you kinda lucky , The day I got mine on I could barely bite marshmellows.
well time will start to fly. before you notice you will be in the phase of everything looks straight but there are minor adjustments which take forever !

Last night my boyfriend and I went down to our local bar for beer and wings. I had to pick the meat off the bone because I didn't want to bust the wire in my mouth.
it will be a week tomorrow since i have had my top braces put on....they feel great and I stare at the mirror everyday and examine my teeth!! LOL! I am always taking pictures too! my 2 ulcers went away since i put wax on my brackets. they were rubbing the inside of my lip i wore the wax for about 2 days and now i am wax free!! YAY! i will post pictures up tomorrow when i get my bottoms braces on....8AM is my appt!! YAY!
