Yesterday at one o'clock i had my appointment to have my xrays, molds and spacers put in. Everything took about an hour to complete. everything went well untill the spacers. they said my teeth were really tight so i had to have metal spacers, NO FUN!! the dr. said i shouldnt have any pain till the next day!! BOY was that a lie! within the hour i had throbbing pain. this morning wen i woke up my teeth didnt hurt at all till about two hours of being up then came the pain!
my friends laugh at how i eat with these in because i cant chew in the back so everything is chewed up front and frankly i look pretty funny while eating.. only 13 more days till my brace day and i can not wait im soooooooo excited!!

welcome aboard and sorry to hear about the pain from the spacers. I haven't physically had them but I've read on here of many people having them so i can see how itd be painful. Hang in there!!!!!!

no worries about looking funny, you'll learn to adapt and adjust and it will get better!

Today is day 8 in my spacers, and i completely forget they are there. Even when i eat and i am so glad! 5 days and 15 hours till my brace day and counting! im so excited!! my little sister is even fixin to get braces next month. im glad ill have someone in the house going threw the same thing i am going threw! i cant wait!!

Monday 1/25/10 i will be braced from right now i have 3 days and 18 hours!! i go back to work tonight so i wont be thinking much about my brace day untill sunday! i work thur-sun and off mon-wed.. im so excited about getting my braces ive wanted them for so long!! im really ready to get these spacers out, no they dont hurt anymore, but they catch all kinds of food and wiggle to much for comfort! im scared they are gonna come out and i will swollow it or something!! i dont get to reply to alot of things because i read archwired everynight i mean EVERY night from my SPAM SPAM SPAM but it wont let me sign in to post or anything so i come to the library to post! well ken i think u r amazing, u take time out to post to everyone's post it seems!! i do have some pre-brace pics but u cant really tell my teeth are crocked except for the pics the ortho took with those crazy lip retractor things... n-e-ways ill be readin round and will prob be back sunday to post! ready for monday so this anxious feeling will go away!

Just thought I'd visit you over here on this thread and share the EXCITEMENT

that you seem to be feeling too!!! I don't have as long to wait - just down to hours now

I don't know if being an old pro at this softens the excitement or the nerves. In theory, I know just what to expect...but then there's that moment of no return when the braces are actually on...and you realize your sentence has begun. The whole thing is actually pretty cool, really! Your smile is under construction from that moment on

Enjoy your last few days. Eat your favorite sticky foods. Run your tongue over your teeth a lot - 'cause you won't get to feel 'em for a while. Stay as distracted as you can and that does seem to help pass the time.

ok so today is my two week brace aversary.. all has been good my teeth hurt like for 4 days then ajusted.. i had orange and pink rubber bands. today my sister went to her first consult and they changed my bands for me cuz my pink turned an ugly color now i have black and purple.. they are pretty. we found out my sister has to have her widsom teeth cut out b4 she can get her braces.. n-e-who all have a good day bye
