brace - day 1

one months been and gone.. plenty of movements happened... i go for my first adjustment on Monday - cant wait!! today is the first day i've left home without wax... i've never really needed it.. and today is the day i get a damn pokey wire digging me seriously in the cheek!!

OUCH.. i hate wires.

ohh and please can you lot help me? I dont know a thing about what type of braces or brackets or rubber bands i have in my mouth - basically i dont know anything about my treatment plan.

what questions should I ask when i go for my adjustment on Monday??

I cant believe 6 weeks has flown past so fast!!

Ask for a copy of your treatment plan...that's what I did. It should have all the details about what kind of brackets you have and everything.

Also, write down all your questions and bring them with you on your next appoinment!

I'm now nearly 2 years with braces - skipped into the hospital yesterday thinking I was very close to my brace removal day - and walked out looking like i'd lost my dog. Supposedly I have at least another SIX months left with these damn braces on.

Now I am feeling like WHY WHY WHY did I bother!! ARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm off to read and be inspired by other peoples stories!!!

HI THERE! I'm sorry you have to wear your braces for another 6 months! But think of it this way! I'm getting braces in 12 days! I have to wear them for 2 years just like you! At least your 2 years are already over!! Maybe that will make you feel better? sorry
