Ok so I had my adjustment today. Things went well. My ligs were taken off and I thought i was going to get a new wire when my OD removed the bottom wire. But she replaced the same one but added a spring (what is it called?) She said it will make gaps in my bottom teeth to make room for them to rotate. She also filed between my teeth a little. Barely anything was removed. My teeth are crowed. My new blue ligs were put on and that was it. Image My teeth feel really tight so I guess she adjusted the top as well. It’s a good pain though. My teeth are too sensitive today to use my electric toothbrush.
This spring has already moved my bottom teeth. Look at these pics. Image

Im so happy to see some change.
And if you notice my top arch has straightened some too. Image
ImageMy two lateral incisors were behind my front incisors, now my top arch is a little rounder.
GO TEETH!!

I'll have to post some better pictures of the bottom arch so you can really see. I'm still using the camera on my phone. I cant find my digital camera right now.

Hey Boohill! :-1

Congrats on your first adjustment today!! So glad to hear it went well, and that you got some new "equipment"! :D Love the new ligs -- they're bright and fun! The pics you posted show awesome movement, and I know you're thrilled with how things are progressing! :jump: Yay!!

I'll be curious to hear about your experience with the coil -- I'm wondering if my ortho will be using something like that on my bottom arch, as it's pretty crowded. I look forward to hearing more about your progress!! :computer:

So it has been about 1 month and 3 weeks. Everything is going well until… A few days ago, I could feel myself biting on the lower back bracket. Well last night while eating pizza, the bracket broke off. How nice. This is the same bracket that broke off when she was first putting my braces on. I’m scheduled for an adjustment next week. I tried to call my ortho to get my date moved up a little but they are closed today. I took the bracket off completely because it was turning and just hanging on being annoying. Nothing is poking me yet but I would like to get this fixed as soon as I can. I have a very busy schedule with work and school so I will probably just have to wait until my appointment next week.

Well yesterday the office was closed so I left a message and got a call from my orthodontist this morning. I was scheduled to go on Tuesday of next week for my normal adjustment, but she pushed it up to Thursday of this week. The missing bracket is not bothering me but there is now a loose wire sticking out on the back molar. I’m afraid it’s going to bend and start sticking me in my cheek. And it bothers me after and during eating when I run my tongue along my teeth to remove food.
I’m very excited to see what new hardware I get this time. I got this jazzy little strong coil spring last visit. I’m sure its time to take it out or move it to another spot by now. It skips a tooth so it’s probably time to get that tooth attached back to the wire now that room has been made for the tooth to rotate. I still have to pick a color but I’ll probably decide once I get there.
