Welcome to Month 19.

Welcome to New Orthodontist Land.

Welcome to clear (or at least they used to be clear) powerchains (which I've learned have a longer lasting elasticity than colored powerchains in that they have no pigments or dyes to interfere with their elasticity!)

Welcome to your supervising orthodontist being "on vacation" in Alaska, (by which I mean volunteering his ortho services to Alaskan Native American children. Told you he was awesome!)

Welcome to finding a cavity/stain on your upper right bicuspid 4 and 1/2 months before your wedding day.

Welcome to PANIC

Im sure you can get it taken care of. If it is a cavity get the white fillings! (I want those soooo bad) and if its a stain, I heard crest white trays and strips are to die for.

I think I have a red koolaid stain on what I didnt think was decalcification, I think its left over enchant? I have no idea, but it bugs me cause I scrub and scrub. :/

Your teeth are beautiful!

Hi shiny,

Sorry to hear about the bicuspid but that sounds like a minor cosmetic fix that shouldn't detract from the beauty of the bride. I sometimes think planning a wedding goes from one crisis to panic mode to the next crisis and the next panic mode.

Are clear powerchains really stronger or just in the mind of the wearer?

Hope your ortho doesn't get attacked by a bear and returns safely to Ohio to make yours the perfect smile.

Clear powerchains maintain elasticity longer than colored according to my ortho.

And my cavity is a brown spot in between my bicuspid and front tooth, making it look like I have a piece of brown rice between my teeth. Gross. I hope it's not a cavity, but there's a real change in texture. :(

As per the recommendation of Ripchord and her mom (haha!) I have been using Rembrandt Whitening Toothpaste (very occasionally) and Rembrandt's 2-Hour whitening system (just on the spot). There was a tiny bit of sensitivity, and it started to go away a little, but now I've confirmed that the spot is indeed a hole. I hope it's just some missing enamel like Chelsea's kool-aid spot. Really, I do.

My fiance got a crown put on at my old dentist's office. I asked the lady at the front desk whether I should get it looked at and she said nah just wait till you get your braces off. They'll buff and shape your teeth and it might just go away! I certainly hope I will be that lucky.

In the mean time I'm hoping against hope that sweet Dr. Reid hasn't become polar bear fodder.

And I know I should post pictures but I can't bear to look at that ugly spot, and it takes SO long to upload them... :(

Anyway, thanks for checking up on me, people!

Theyre terrible to look at, so I understand why you chose not to post pictures! Okay, since I had the same issue basically the tooth the spot is located on, has it always been sensitive, and does it have any decalcification, anddd has it moved A LOT like in a short span of time? And dont use whitening products on any of your teeth right now. Tooth paste should be fine but avoid any whitening gels etc. Because that weakens your enamel, and since you have a spot it will chip away some more. Mine did just by brushing. It shouldnt be a cavity but if its a dark dark color, it might not be good news. However, the good news is, is that it can be fixed in like 20 minutes. Pretty much painless, its like a filling without the cavity.

It should be fine!

It's official. It's a cavity. I had a cavity in that tooth in 2006, and even though it was filled, I was such a snaggle-face back then that it was really hard to fill. My ortho said they could take off my archwire and then I could drive back to my dentist in dayton and they could fill the cavity and then I could drive back to columbus and get my archwire put back on- but that at this point in treatment I should just wait until I'm de-bonded to get it filled. I should get de-bonded, whiten my teeth, and then go get the filling done. Which I will plan for, once I know my official de-bracing date.

Which brings me to the GOOD news. Two more adjustments- one in June, one in July, and I get the braces off in August!

In the mean time, I am doubling up on the most powerful elastics they have. That's two 3mm Super Heavy elastics in upright triangles between my upper canines, lower canines and lower first premolars. Oww. I have to close this space beneath my upper canines!!! We're in the home stretch, people, gotta keep things moving!

3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days until the wedding!

I have picked out my dress, and booked the venue. I called the caterer, but we changed our mind about the menu...

This had better all come together in the last few months. I have zero time to plan until summer starts and classes are finished!

Can you see the cavity? Ugly, I know.

But overall I am so happy with my smile I have to keep a bottle of windex underneath my bathroom sink to wipe all of the lipstick prints off of the mirror. Seriously, I'm in love with myself. I'm going to have the uber-ego by the time I get these babies off.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm comin' out so you better get this party start-ed!

Seriously I feel like I should pierce something or get a tattoo or something to commemorate this momentous occasion in the life of River...

Bellybutton?

Thanks for checking up on me, y'all! And thanks for all the awesome comments= you're giving me narcissistic personality disorder. :D Love you all!

It doesnt look ugly! It will be fixed in no time. And I think I have another enamel problem but my webcam isnt picking up on it. I tihnk ill schdule a cleaning or something nad ask a dentist in this god forsaken town.

Your teeth look great! And I just got my belly button done not too long ago. It doesnt hurt at all (but then again i love piercings and tattoos. gauging my ears soon!) the only thing I cant say enough is clean it everyday! Buy sea salt and a shot glass and put hot water and salt in the shot glass and put it over your navel and lay back on a flat surface for 10 minutes. They take forever to heal aswell but theyre cute!
