Christy's Story - Braces @ 31

#1 Post by Christy »

I am 5 days being braced and this is my story,

Day 1 (2/17) - Upper & Lower metal was put on along with a removable bite plate. I wanted ceramic on top but was discouraged because of staining & the possibility of having to wear them longer. So all metal it was. I took ibroprofen before my appointment & brought along chap stick. Boy am I glad for both! WONDERFUL! Everytime I had a break I put on the chap stick, highly recommended!! I was instructed to wear the bite plate when eating, sleeping & as much as I could otherwise. And let me tell you it is impossible to chew with that darn thing! :?
I wasn't too sore until day 3 & warm soup & Bops Ice Cream was the best!! AMAZING!! :)

I have a baby tooth that will require a liagation to bring the permanent tooth down. Ouch! Not looking forward to that!!

I am adjusting to my new look but the metal taste in my mouth is not to pleasant, YUK! I am look forward to hearing from each of you to help through my journey wired!!

Here are my pics! Sorry for the wax, ha!

Gosh, I has been a while since I have posted. 8 months since braced and going great. 4 weeks ago I went thru Oral surgery to pull a baby tooth and put a chain on my permanent tooth. Surgery went ok until I developed a ear infection. A week after surgery, my Ortho tied the chain to my wire. Then 3 weeks later he made what he calls a monkey chain. I have had the monkey chain since yesterday and it gets in my way but if it will pull this stubborn tooth down, BRING IT ON! [/img]
