6 months into having braces..

#1 Post by underbitegirl »

(sorry my english language is poor...)
I've been asking my mom to allow me to have braces on since last year as my school dentist said I needed it because of my protruded lower jaw. However, my mom refused and claimed that my sister's teeth was worst than mine (at that time she had braces because of her crooked teeth). I had a tooth growing out from my gums too. I never liked to laugh since then. Whenever I laugh, I would cover my mouth because I was afraid that others might laugh at that tooth. Not only that, my friends said whenever I laugh, I resemble a horse because of my jaws. I never liked taking photos with people, I hated my smile!! This year, my mother finally agreed to let me have braces. My ortho said my teeth condition was much or complicated than my sister's. My mom could've paid more attention towards me than my sister... I extracted 5 teeth in total, although putting on braces can be inconvenient, but I enjoy having it!! :) I am different from many other people..I'm always excited when it comes to my dental appointment. And..many people dread having elastics, but not for me!! Btw I just got my elastics last tuesday..the first day it was really painful, and I've seen movement in my jaws, the gap became smaller. But...after that, i dont see any improvement anymore...:( I want to speed up my treatment, because I want to be able to smile naturally in front of the camera..

It's very good that your braces are working well for you. What five teeth do you have extracted and why?
