Hi, there! You and I have almost the same top front four teeth - and my ortho has given me a year estimate as well! I've had my braces on just a month, and I've noticed my front overlapping tooth has come down maybe about halfway. My bottom teeth have all straightened out except for one, and it's almost there.
I'm glad your'e seeing such good results after just two months!

3 month update, teeth are moving loads, front two are a midgeys off perfect now, impressed so far, bottom is straightend too those two snaggle teeth gonna be gone soon, ortho impressed she has fitted a new wire 9th nov. Which crippled my mouth for four days so had to keep dosed up on pain killers. Next change is 4th jan so will update then and get pic posted soon. If your thinking about getting braces as an adult, what u waiting for I put this off for so long and its one of the best ammounts of money I have spent, well that student loans paid for, and I'm only 3 months in
Re: Newbie to the world of brace
Not updated for ages, I am due to have my brace removed on the 16th August this year, recently the last two changes have been to fit power chain on bottom teeth to close all gaps they have worked really well and are complete although I still feel they was a slight movement in them however I am still happy. As for my top teeth the overlap is almost completely gone my ortho replaced my bracket on one front tooth to balance out the overlap at last change and I am due for a second wire change on the 17th May (next week) I imagine it will be another tight wire again as a pattern has emerged with my ortho doing this.
Again the top teeth I wouldnt say are 100% perfect but I still have 3 months to go which is a long time, I am due to get married on the 20th August and wouldnt want braces on for that day but checked with my ortho to have them taken off and put back on to get them 100% if not, at a cost of only £400 which isnt too bad, although I was told they would only take the year, also need to look at getting my front tooth bleached or veneered after that fight all those years ago!

Well thats me done, completely debraced after a year, to be honest though I will share that I still feel I had some movements left on those two problem teeth, my darkend tooth which I had almost kicked out and the next small incisor could in my opinion have moved a little more, however my ortho doesnt seem to think so and showed me the perfect alignment and thinks it is due to the tooth being dead it has actually receeded in mass and will never be a perfect match to the health front incisor as it has also changed shape where it was a perfect match before the tooth died, this is my own fault for fighting when drunk all those years ago and this has cost me sheer perfection...... so what to do???? Ill probably get it bleached and both of them filed a mm or so to even them up the only other alternative is vaneer the dead too which kind of seems pointless of getting braced in the first place.
I get married in exactly 8 days so I am over the moon that they are off but also got very used to them and would urge anyone considering braces for cosmetic, comfort or even hygiene reasons to do so and even if you do not get exactly 100% results like some or even me I would say I was at 90% overall happy it is still worth every penny and they are great compared to one year ago.
I have uploaded my final pics,

Having thought about my teeth I am really not happy in all honesty, my overjet is still the same if not worse than before, also my bite (where my molars interlock) I am physically having to pull my jaw back for the teeth to match, the ortho said to me on Thursday, "there ready to come off" at which point I said "I wasnt 100% happy, I had no banding done and I think she just wanted them off to get me out of the surgery to be honest" well having looked at them and had family looked at them I am no where near done, I am going to ask ortho for a second opinion tomorrow and ask for them to be put back on immediately.
Im pretty down at the moment, gonna speak with Ortho on Monday morning and get them replaced; note for you, if you are not happy, speak up and dont feel like they can pressure you into a decision.!
