Okay so its day 4 and things seem to be getting alot better. Im learning how to maneuver my mouth to sit comfy on the the brackets. So I've become really obsessed with keeping my mouth cleaned and starring at my teeth daring them to make any movement. I know I sound like a possesed person, but just knowing that your mouth is under construction you try and pay close attention to any type of changes. I know Im so corny. But anyway I went to work and quite a few people commented on my new grill. Im not sure if it was positive or not but who cares right? I noticed one thing different adout me besides my new equipment, Im starting to smile more without covering my mouth and caring less about what people think. (well that makes 2 things) I've learned having braces affect your lifestyle in many ways especially your eating. Come to think about it I've lost 10 pounds which is alright by me. I just dont have the patience to clean all of the forrbiden foods so I've excluded them.

If you're possessed, then so am I! I've had mine for over a year, and I STILL look at them all the time, inspecting them for any possible changes. I can't help it. I'm a bit fascinated with the magic they've done, and continue to do, with my teeth.

I'm so happy to hear that you're smiling more! I smile WAAY more than I ever did before, even with these stupid elastics and purple ligs on my teeth. KEEP ON SMILING!

I love the color choice! :D

I feel you on cleaning the teeth, making sure everything is clean all the time. I don't think I have ever brushed/flossed this much in my entire life. lol

Thanks bracedmyelf and waitingforbraces Im so silly about these braces. Okay so this was my first weekend back to work and it was quite an experiance b/c of the extra cleaning. But what really annoyed me was saturday my wire thats going across my extraction on the lower right is starting to push up against my jaws. I dont know if something is wrong or if this is normal. Its not a wire that's broke or anything, but its not hooked on a bracket b/c of the extraction. and its a pain!!! Other then that Im all smiles now without covering my mouth. :) Im so happy!!

Oh my gosh!!!! I can not believe I broke my top wire. Im so embarrassed  to call my ortho buy my cheek is killing me. Other then that I went and purchased an waterpik and I love it. Its so funny how the naked eye cant see some of the things that this little gadget reveals. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for posting your pics.

I just noticed for the first time, they twist or cross the ligatures on your top front teeth, I wonder if that is to make it extra tight or to add more pressure. I wonder if I'll have the same set up.

Which waterpik do you have the cordless or the one that holds a tank of water, love your endorsement and want one too.

Looking forward to reading your updates as we are close in brace dates!!! Good luck on your wire repair.

Good morning all!!! I've been super busy this weekend with my daughter water park b-day party so glad thats over with phew!!!! Nettie i have the waterpik with the tank of water let me tell you its a really good investment and I really like that I can clean my extraction areas especially the wisdom extraction areas. I did get my wires fixed vcome to find out its not uncommon for that to happen bcuz the the wire is not that thick yet. Im noticing that my bite is a little different. Other than that Im still dealing with canker sores.

Hey Km--

I'm wondering--I have a 6mm overjet--and it is starting to feel really weird. Like for the first time my lips are just naturally on my front teeth--hard to explain. Are you feeling anything like that?

About being obsessed with your teeth--I probably win!!--I go to the mirror and hold up another mirror to get a side view to see if the buckys are coming in. Like a couple times a day. It's the most fun to look at my teeth in the morning, because that seems to be when I seem to really notice andy changes. It's really neat when I see the tiny changes, but they are
definitely there!!

When is your 1st adjustment? Oh ya, and I smile more too--I really like having braces (well, not the pokeys, but they actually look good on me--even my husband said so.) I thought I would be shocked when the ortho handed me the mirror and I saw them for the first time--but I was like "Wow, that's not bad at all!" And I have all metal!!

We're going to look so great when we are done!!!

Watingforbraces: Im so excited to be two weeks in. Im noticing small changes. I keep paying close atention to this eye looking for it to get straight so we can get these buckeys pushed back.

KLOBIRD; I do feel a change in my bite. My next adjutment is at the end of this month. Im looking forward to see what my ortho is going to do. Im dreading the power chains but yet excited to see my teeth move back.
