Ughh im in so muchh pain! This morning I got my spacers on my lower right teeth which is also the same side I chew on and im just on yhe verge on crying because of the pressure on my teeth. And im my head im just thinking, right back to square 1... Ive already taken pain medication,and it seems like it made it worse. This is probably worse than getting my braces tighten. Ughh usually I can take pain but this is wayyyy different. I. Hate. Pain! ): -__-

Wow that really sucks.

I have spacers in too, but because I also have bite turbos I can't bite so it doesn't hurt the tooth at all. Plus I can only have really soft/liquid food. You might try that until you get them out. You could also try some Orajel on the gum around the tooth and see if that helps. Did your ortho tell you when you get them out?

My ortho gave me 1 week for mine, they come out on Thursday. I bet it won't be too long for you either.

Yeah probably me too. I have to go back nextt wednesday so hopefully then i'll get them out.

Just got my spacers out today and the band put on. For a couple hours my tooth hurt from the pressure, now I don't notice anything at all. Though the tooth that has a band has no nerves (root canal and filling) in it so you might feel more than I do. It's probably why the spacers really didn't bother me.

Oh really?? The tooth that has the spacers on it, is my root canal also. The pain was worse yesterday. Its not as bad today but its still sore and I cant eat much.

I'm sitting here with spacers on myself.. the first day was fine.. the next day was awful and just seemed to get worse.. Im going on my 4th day and was so hungry today I couldn't stand myself lol... I did manage some scrambled eggs( the best eggs I've ever eaten) and chili.. Awesome combo right lol.. I'm supposed to go in thursday to get the spacers off and the braces put on.. Even with all this pain I just want the braces on Thursday.. If they say I have to wait or do something else (again) first I might just scream!

Forgot to mention that I had left over vicodin from the lovely teeth pulling session last month.. those seemed to help the pain some right before eating..

Wow thats crazy! I get mine out wednesday. I already have my braces which really doesnt make sense to me considering the fact that people got their spacers before getting there braces and I got mine after. But yeah the pain lastes me three days. I took some meds that knocked me out & the pain for 11 hrs on the 2nd day but it came back the next day. Now food for me was horrible. Couldnt eat anythin g except ice cream which (suprisingly) I got sick of. But yeah, im glad the pain's gone.

You guys were lucky to have pain meds to help.

Might try not eating solid food for a few days and give that tooth a rest as well. That's my standard diet since my molars don't touch. Soup, yogurt, pudding, jamba juice, ice cream!!!

I think it really depends on the orthodontist. I only say that because they put my braces on and skipped the tooth that needed the band. They put in spacers and a week later I went in. They took the spacers out, took the wire out and put a band on that looks like it already had the bracket attached. They then put the wire back in.

Hmmm I really hope they take these spacers out and put the braces on the same day.. I'm not good with waiting.. I'm already starving . I much rather get it all put on and do the painful waiting game until I can chew again!
