Hi everyone,
I had a brace fitted about 4 months ago, I had a really big gap I between my frot teeth so that was the main reason for having the brace fitted. Well I've noticed this morning that the same sized gap has appeared between the next two teeth but the gap between my front teeth has closed? This is the same on the other side- I seem to have gaps appearing between teeth that before I had ther brace were completely closed.... Is this normal and am I just panicking a little too soon as I have been told the brace will need to stay on for a further 9 months..
Any advice will be gratefully received. Have a good day everyone Laura x

Yup. 100% normal. I have more gaps than I can even count now that popped up. I'm 7mos into my 14 mos and started with teeth that were so tight I couldn't floss.now I'm wearing Powerchains to close them. Enjoy the changes

Thank goodness for that, I was starting to get worried as my teeth look worse now than before I had the brace put on - my mother always says I have no patients

It appears to me that your front gap closed and then you were left with the new gaps on the other sides of those teeth? Sometimes in orthodontic treatment, once a gap is closed, another (or several others) may be created. You get the gaps because your teeth are moving into position... there were lots of times when my orthodontist would bend my wires, and later, I would have a gap somewhere, but as my treatment went on, those gaps would close. She often used a powerchain to bring my teeth together. Whatever your orthodontist uses, I'm sure you will be fine and your teeth will be perfect when your braces are removed.
