Hi yj207,

Thank you! The Ortho said the front would line up pretty quickly. I think because pulling my front two teeth forward from their backwards tilted position has made lots of space for the rest to move :D

I don't use a waterpik although I have thought about buying one a couple of times.

I use a Sonicare sonic toothbrush, a manual toothbrush and an interdental brush for around my brackets and floss and that seems to do the trick. I think a waterpik for me might just be a another gadget that won't get used (like my vegetable steamer, heated eyelash curler, electric nail filer......the list goes on!) .,, although I may get one in the future if I get more hardware in my mouth :?

Other people have said that they like them for getting stuck food from braces but I have read that they are no substitute for flossing.

x

Your arch is looking gorgeous! Wow! :D

And my laugh for the day - heated eyelash curler! Ok, I thought I was the only one who bought stuff like that... Shamwow!

Thanks petitcanard!

I was pretty shocked when I first took a picture of my 'arch' to find out it was in fact square! so I'm pleased with how it looks now :D

Wow Ladybird, your arch & your teeth look great. How do you take such good pics of your teeth, I can't seem to get a pic of my arch, I've been trying to take one all day and they just keep on coming out blurry :?

Hey Emms,

Thank you :D Yeah I know that happens to me sometimes, I just try different things until I get it right.

Make sure you're near a light if it's a bit dull. I tend not to use the flash because it doesn't come out well. You can set your camera to macro to get a clearer picture.

I usually set the timer for 10 seconds to give me chance to get ready and keep still. I also hold a mirror underneath the camera so that I can see the screen on the other side to see if I'm in shot and focus.

I had the same thing the other day, when I was taking pictures from different angles it was fine until I tried to take one from the front and it was blury every time and took me aaaaaaaaages :?

I don't give up that easily though! (much to my detriment sometimes)

Hope this helped

Well....

I haven't been on here for ages but felt I should finish my story and post after pics. Documenting the whole braces saga was just making it drag so I just got on with it and forgor about them the best that I could.

I had them around 2.5 years instead of the estimated 2. I was was never made fun of and they didn't bother anyone. I didn't have any decalcification as I had feared for the last 2.5 years, and my teeth were much whiter than I thought they would be by the time they came off.
My gums were a little sore but thats it. They literally took minutes to remove.

I've posted pics for you to see. My only gripe is that they protrude slightly more than I expected but I'm just being fussy. I think my ortho has done a good job with the mess he had to work with!

One of the pics is black and white because the file is too big and I don't know how to resize it!

If you're thing about it... DO IT!! it's worth it, I smile loads more now

Oh you look gorgeous! Funnily enough, I am starting out with teeth which are similar in layout/shape - bu actually much worse - than yours before you started treatment in '09 and I'm also 29! So it's a bit like I'm going through your journey three years after you! I just had my braces on two days ago though. I like them sometimes, and other times I am like "oh wow - I feel odd!" I expect that feeling will abate though!

THANK YOU so SO much for updating your story though! It's awesome to see you all done - you look absolutely fantastic! :) :jump:

Hi VioletJay

I checked your story your teeth do look like mine used to! I think it helps to see after pics so you can see what can be achieved.
You'll find the front ones straighten up really quickly but you won't notice you'll think they're not moving. Takes pictures at 1 and 2 months and you'll see : )
Good luck it will be over before you know it
