I've had braces for 3 ish weeks now. Things are looking good and I'm enjoying the progress I am seeing. I'm still a little bummed that because of my holiday my first adjustment is delayed another month, but time is flying by pretty fast!

Here is what my teeth look like now

Compared to before.

Not much new to report, other than that the last 2 days my front 4 teeth are sore again, and it's hard to chew. Hopefully this means that they are moving still! :D

Thanks Smilehope, you were right!! My teeth definitely weren't going to stand still for the next few weeks! :D

While I always hoped braces could move my teeth this fast, I never imagined it was actually possible! It has been only 40 days with my braces (felt like 2 weeks really!), and while I'm no where near done I'm already a million times happier with my smile and myself!

Pictures of my progress are below, because it's rediculously exciting to see results! I truly hope these pictures inspire someone who's tossing up the idea of braces (like I was) and makes them take action and book the appointment. Reading similar stories on here was what inspired me to take the plunge, and it was the best thing I have ever done. Absolutely no regrets, despite the fact I'm now close to broke for my troubles haha

So as you can see, from the front, my teeth look almost normal! Exciting huh. I now have bigger spaces on the side, which don't really bother me since I know they'll be the next to go! You can see the frenulum between my two front teeth is slightly swollen, and believe me, its bloody sore! I'm thinking I might just get the frenectomy at the end just to make doubly sure it doesn't make the space open up again a few years from now.

Still 3 more weeks til I go back, and I'm so looking forward to getting new ligs put on because the purple has faded a heap! Which colour should I get next?!?!

Things are really moving!!!! I'm sure even in the next few weeks you will see even more changes!
I really like my pink ligs. I liked the teal as well but they got kinda old by three or four weeks I wasn't sad to see them go. I like the pink a lot better and will probably stick with the pink family from here on out ( I like how thwy go with my pink lip glosses) :)
I'm sure anything you decide will look great!!!

I really wanted to try the light pink and the baby blue whilst I have my braces. But when I saw the colours, when I first got my braces on, he only had dark blue and hot pink. And then all the ugly greens and browns. I'd really like to try baby blue or pink next :( Wonder if I can convince him to get some better colours!!

Thank you so much for posting your progress Bec! My front teeth are spaced almost exactly as yours were to begin and seeing yours move so fast gives me real hope. I can only imagine how happy you are :) I get my braces in two weeks today, very excited now!!

Yes Porge, I am ecstatic! And I'm also very happy to see that my story gives you hope! It really does happen so very fast, and I look forward to hearing about your progress also! Have you got a thread on here with your story yet? I'm also happy to answer any questions and stuff you have, because if you're anything like me, I had a million questions!! Most people I knew who had braces, had the opposite problem (crowding) and weren't much help to me! haha.

Hip Hip Hooray!

:jump: IT'S GONE!! :jump:

I woke up this morning and the last part had closed up overnight! Woohoo! Here is what my new smile looks like...

I've only had my braces on for a month and a half, and no adjustments yet, so I'm really stoked with the results so far. It really gives me an idea already of what my new smile will look like when it's done. I'm a very happy girl today :)

Hey Bec!

How are your teeth doing? Have you had your first adjustment yet and if so, how did it go? Looking forward to hearing about progress:)
