Extraction to help overcrowding and overbite

#1 Post by Myteeth »

Hi all, very new to this!

Had my braces fitted 2 weeks ago and had 2 teeth taken out on Thursday, got another 2 to be taken out in a weeks time. To say I'm nervous is an understatement!
Almost passed out when they took out the last 2 teeth, any tips to help the next appt go smoother?!

Also quite worried about the size of the gap the teeth have left and how my teeth Are going to fill these gaps!!
Xx

Don't worry - the gaps will be filled before you know it (at least they'll be much less visible).
I got braces for the second time :( about a year and a half ago and had 6 teeth extracted. The gaps were almost filled up one year later, and the teeth had moved quite a bit in the first 6 months.
Hang in there :)

Hi!

I'm getting my braces next Thursday. My ortho had advised me to get 4 teeth extracted in order to make room. I didn't feel comfortable about extracting 4 healthy teeth so my ortho was kind of enough to give me the option of extracting after my braces have been put on and depending on how my teeth move.

Have you seen any improvements and how's are the gaps progress closing?
