Thanks Cathy & Angel,
Really appreciate the support.
Cathy,
As the saying goes from your lips to God's ears ( or in this case - my Ortho's ears), I really want the teeth to be same length. I don't mind the gap, but I never noticed the mismatched lengths before the braces
Why is it that the week before your adjustment appointment your teeth start misbehaving?
My front teeth ache. To top it off, I got a bristle from my toothbrush stuck in my back bracket and I can't get at it. Ended up cutting it. The ends of my wires are tearing up my inner cheeks and I keep swallowing the dental wax.
I am so looking forward to my appointment on Saturday. Need to decide on a new color for my chains.
On the positive side, I think my front gap is closing. Will post pics after my adjustment.
I feel ya Mitch. My teeth will hurt for a few days after an adjustment and a few weeks later just when I think I'm safe then they start aching all over again. I have a section of chain on my lowers from my right central back to my first molar and those buggers will hurt one day and be fine the next only to hurt again. I think they have finally started to settle down but I'm sure I'm in for some more pain soon. LOL... No pain no gain right... I currently have bright blue ligs...am thinking hot pink next. I had bubblegum pink before that was nice..you might think about that. Or you could go bold and get a dark color.
you might try the back side of a spoon to push down the wires in the back if you can bend them away from your cheek it helps alot. I also find that rinsing with a peroxide mouth wash or just peroxide helps heal those sore spots up fast.

I've gone back to the purple power chains, adding to the pressure he's put an extra power chain across the two front teeth.
OK, I got a problem - the power chain connecting to my last bracket broke - I trimmed off the edge, will this be a problem ?? My next appointment is in 4 weeks.
Doc says the longer tooth is because it is weaker than the rest and is moving the most (????)
My bite is really off centre !!!!!!!
You can't tell in the second picture, but I've got double powerchains over my front two upper teeth .....
I wouldn't worry about the broken chain I'm sure that it will be fine. If you are worried I would just give them a call and see if they want to fix it. Looks like your midline is getting closer to center. I'm sure pretty soon i will be really good. In the meantime I really like the purple ligs and powerchains

I really want a double powerchain across my front 2 but I don't think he will do it, I dont think he is too happy for teeth to move too fast. My diastema is starting to close-I hope he will use a stronger powerchain if he won't double up instead. My next adjustment isn't for another 3 weeks I think
Had my 3rd adjustment yesterday. OMG, my uppers feel like someone's taken a sledgehammer to my face. He only changed my upper power chains, but upon closer inspection, he seems to have threaded it differently. Also, with my overbite closing up, my uppers and lowers are now making contact in some places. With my teeth being so sensitive it hurts when I clench my jaw.
Also, I didn't realize how touchy everything was. I stopped at the supermarket on my way home from the dentist and picked up some flaky croissants, when I tried to bite into one I thought my teeth were coming out !!
I had my 3rd adjustment yesterday and have a stronger powerchain to close my diastema-He is hoping it will be closed by my appointment at the end of October (feel free to check out my recent piccy) but they are so sore, I suppose the fact that they are sore means that they are on the move and that it is positive progress
I'm no orthodontist Mitch, but on your 'snaggletooth' it looks like the bracket is placed higher up on the tooth than the one next to it. This would result in the tooth being pulled down farther. Just saying.
Kipepeo,
Thanks!
That's what I thought too. I plan on asking my ortho on my next visit. Which is actually going to be next week as I have to travel and will mess up my adjustment schedule.
Hopefully I can convince him to move the bracket.
