I went to the ortho about 2 weeks ago. I don't have to wear my rubber bands anymore. She also looked at me teeth and made a comment that I may be getting my braces off sooner than expected because I have to get Veneers on four of my top teeth. She put some silver things (maybe I should start asking for the correct terms lol) on both my top teeth and bottom teeth that were SOO painful. I woke up in the middle of the night and almost cried!

I go back to her in about 2 weeks. I really feel that my teeth are at a standstill. I haven't seen anything dramatic happening to my teeth. There are very small gaps in the back of my mouth that need to be closed, and I believe the large gaps I have on the sides of my mouth, won't be closed with braces, that's where i'm getting the veneers. So for my next visit i'm going to ask her what more we have to work on. Maybe i'll have my braces off for Halloween. Wishful thinking lol...

Anyhow, I have two pictures attached; one of myself from about a month ago. I really like this picture, because it's the first time I've smiled since I was a little girl and actually like what I see. I also didn't mind showing it to the people I was close to without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. So this picture is kind of a milestone i've experienced during my brace journey. :) The other picture is a random photo on the internet I found. I love the shape of her teeth. I wouldn't mind my teeth resembling hers when I get my braces off. Well, HAPPY SMILING EVERYONE  :jokerlaugh:
Hi Sin! :-1

Sorry that you were in pain :(, hopefully it didn't last for very long. No rubberbands? That's awesome!!

That'll be so cool if you get your braces off sooner than you expected! :D That's so neat!! :jump: :jump:

Your teeth are looking great and you're prettyful! :)

Keep on Smiling

:-1 Hey Bracetwin!

Awww you are so kind. Thanks for the compliments. I just took a look at your blog and your teeth are looking FABULOUS. :-** I'm happy that you are smiling more and not so shy. You know i'm still not comfortable enough to smile without putting my face down, or covering my mouth occasionally...I'll get there soon though lol. Just curious, do you still have to get the frenectomy? My ortho hasn't mentioned anything to me about it since my gap has closed completely. But anywayz, hope you enjoy your weekend! Happy Smiling. :-#)

You're welcome and Thanks! :D I'm sure once the braces come off, you'll hold your head up high and smile like you just won the lotto. :) I still have to have a frenectomy unfort. I'm not sure when, but my ortho has made it pretty clear. :( (Was hoping I didn't have to, lol!)
Well, I've actually been a little naughty. I eat basically anything I want lol. I know, it's not good. But I do not chew gum, eat apples, or carrots. So maybe i'll bite into an apple & a carrot and chew a big pack of gum! What do you plan on eating?
Meant to answer this too: I've been bad too... Eating Pringles and chips and I've even tried popcorn. (Was very careful) lol But because I can't just chomp on popcorn, or corn on the cob... That's probably going to be the first thing I eat.

In a way, I think that's why I avoid going to the movies very often because the smell of popcorn is intoxicating. I want it so bad but can't have it...

Hi!
Our stories are kind of similar. I am also dealing with a large diastema between my two front teeth. I am not actually wearing braces right now but expect that I will be soon. I'm scheduled to meet with an orthodontist on August 24th for a consultation. I just wanted to write and say that your teeth are really beautiful and I think that when you're all finished with your treatment, you will be SO happy! Good luck with it and keep us posted on your progress.

Boy, does time go by fast! I haven't posted in months. :|

I've been busy busy busy with school. I'm sure my teeth has moved a lot, if you asked the ortho but in my eyes I feel like they are kind of at a stand still. For months i've been wearing rubber bands non stop. (I've gotten so used to them, that when I do not wear them my teeth start to hurt because of the lack of pressure. Weird.) A couple months ago my ortho also put power-chains on all my teeth. (That was very very painful.) My teeth were sore for about 2 weeks.

I visit the ortho again some time next month. Fingers crossed very tight, I pray removal of my braces will be my New Years gift. But we shall see. My teeth still look like they "stick out" too far (don't know the correct word for that) & a couple more things don't look just right. My ortho also plans on leaving the two gaps on the side of my mouth slightly open and I have to get veneers or crowns on 2-4 of my top front teeth...But If not New Years, Hopefully sometime in March before my birthday, they shall be gone at last. :D

Also, a little off topic but I still find myself covering my smile when I laugh or slightly putting my head down so my teeth won't show. Back when I had my XXlarge gap, i told myself i would smile all the time when it closed. Now that the gap has disappeared, I've found other critiques with my teeth. *sighs. Hopefully, this esteem issue will pass when i'm fully debraced and I will smile even when i'm sad lol!

These pics are from the last 3 months maybe. (I haven't been keeping track like I should. :? ) & the last picture I took about 10 minutes ago. HAPPY SMILING EVERYONE! & HAPPY HOLIDAYS.  :-*

Hi! :-1 :jump: I am horribly late. This semester of schooling has been very intense.

Just went to check out your teeth. They look amazing! I wish my teeth didn't stick out like yours.
How are your braces treating ya lately? Any talk of debracing yet?

Progress? You can judge for yourself lol. They look about the same to me. Probably wont see the big big difference until they are off and I get the Veneers on to cover up those gaps. Boy, has this been a "gappy" journey for me lol!

Happy holidays as well!

Oh, my goodness what a HUGE difference! Your teeth look SO much better. You better get out from behind that hand when you smile now, girl!! No more being ashamed of those teeth. They look just terrific. I'm sure you must be very pleased.
I finally got my braces put on at the end of October and in just three weeks time the space between my front teeth has already started to close. I hope that I will have a nice result like yours in about the same amount of time! So, start smiling already, okay????

SO much better is an understatement. I didn't realize how big my gap was smh!
Happy to hear you got your braces! How are you feeling about them so far?
*Sighs, I'm working on the smiling thing Dee. Lol. I've literally covered my mouth when I smile for about 10 years of my life. It's kind of become natural to me. BUT i will try my hardest to take your advice! :)

Bracedtwin! :D I'm sorry that school has been so intense, hopefully things will slow down soon.

Thanks! :) Well, I had an adjustment last Wednesday and it was by far the most painful.. In stainless steel wires, plus powerchains on top and bottom and elastics too.. Just awful.. :| But my teeth are starting to settle down some what. No talks of debracing yet, still have a ways to go.

You say you don't see a difference, but I definitely do!! Your teeth are beautiful and you shouldn't be ashamed of smiling at all! So smile BIG!

Happy holidays to you too!
