It can be a bit of a pain when you have to wait to have pictures emailed to you.
As for my powerchain? I am not a very happy girl right now. My teeth (especially on the bottom) have just been aching and aching since she put them on. They really hurt! I'm not used to this kind of pain because up until now I haven't had any pain with my braces. Only mild discomfort which I could easily manage with Tylenol. So, this is a whole new experience and I must say that I'm not enjoying it very much.
Take solace in knowing that the pain is not in vain!!! Hang in there
curvyivy wrote:I have a large midline diastema as well. I've had my braces for a month. No change in the gap but, i've seen some changes in the bottom teeth. My ortho said it'll be a while before they work on closing the gap. Not sure what a while is and I didnt bother to ask. Good luck on your braces journey! I'll be following along.
My ortho said the same thing. My next adjustment is on the 23rd, I can't wait to see some progress in the gap. How long is your treatment time going to be?
Also, my wires keep coming out of the tube on the molar bands. I am currently struggling to get that back in. Hopefully this wont prolong my treatment. My ortho has 3 different locations, its too much for me to take a cab to another town to fix this so I am waiting until the 23rd.

Just can't wait to smile and have the confidence to do so
I really cannot wait to see your pics. I think I might die of happiness when my time comes lol
Our stories are a little similar. I also had a gap between my two front teeth. I understand your feelings of not being comfortable. I felt the same exact way. My gap is now closed, and I am still uncomfortable with smiling. But just know that the time will fly by, and you'll have the smile you want in no time! You will also get used to the adjustments after a while.

Thanks!!! I saw your thread before I got braced, that was lots of inspiration for me! I can't wait to be in your position
I'm 28 as well and I'm closing my gap too. Got braced Dec. 6th of last year. My first adjustment was uneventful as my ortho said was too soon to make and adjustments, my neXt appointment is this Wednesday, so I'm hoping he'll like my progress enough to advance me a little.

Congrats on starting your journey!! Sorry that you are in pain today, it really does get better!
I started with a gap between my two front teeth and it was closed completely for a bit but now I have a small gap again. All a part of the process though.
When my gap closed, I couldn't stop running my tongue along the backs of my teeth, it was the weirdest but coolest feeling knowing that they touch. lol
Just know that all the pain and discomfort is worth it in the end!

Hey , really like your blog. Looks like the gap that opened up is still tiny, your teeth look great. I cannot wait to feel the backs of my teeth and feel NO gap. hehe
So my teeth have definitely moved. The teeth to either side of my upper central incisors no longer touch the bottom teeth when I shut my mouth. They used to all meet up. It feels rather strange, but at least they are moving. Gap is a tad bit smaller too...
I am scheduled to have a lower incisor removed 3/22 and next adjustment 3/23. So nervous about the tooth removal.
It's been over three weeks since I got braces and I am excited for my first adjustment. I am scheduled to have the lower incisor removed on Friday but I am having reservations. I am thinking about putting it off until next month. Hmmm....decisions decisions.
Had my lower incisor removed on Friday.
Then had my second adjustment yesterday.
I am really feeling terrible. And I look crazy without my tooth.
I really hope this all pays off eventually...because right now I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My bite is all funny and I dont really know whats going on.
Oh, sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. I hope you'll feel better soon. Hang in there as best you can. I'm sure that it will all be worth it in the end. Someone from this forum once said that things had to get worse before they got better. I think that's true with many things.... why should teeth be any different. I'll be thinking of you!
Sorry you're struggling at the moment. We all have these times. I too have a gap on one side where they took a baby tooth out and it won't be closed to it remains there, visible at all times. I don't like it much either but I've sort of gotten used to it as time has passed. Hang in there! Things will get better.
