Angel, I don't know how I missed your fabulous after photo. As everyone else commented, truly glamorous. What strikes me is the actual shape of your teeth is so much nicer. Did they shape your upper incisors very much? Wow! Excellent results.

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been around on here lately.

@ Jem-Yes, I got my Essix a week later on Thursday 21 March. It was tight on one of my canines the first night but then after that was fine. I was instructed to wear it only really if there was a problem but I'm not taking any chances as I have heard of repeat cases on the forum where bonded retainers have debonded. I have worn mine every night since I have had it and have been getting on ok with it, have seen a tiny bit of wear around the molars on it (I think I may have been bruxing :( ) Will probably wear it every night for the first 3 months or so while the initial settling down happens then perhaps every other night or so.

@ Kipepeo-My teeth had a lot of cosmetic tweaking admittedly, I had a fair bit of filing, especially as one of my front incisors was longer than the other-as how it was positioned and had worn over time. I asked for them to be made shorter as it was talked possibly about adding some bonding to lengthen the shorter one but to me I felt that by looking slightly longer it made my teeth look a bit more prominent which I didn't like

Am getting used to the bonded retainer now. Not as drawn to it with my tongue as I was to start with but am still aware it is there-I am sure that this will still improve over time.

I still can't believe my Dad hadn't noticed-He had been on Facebook and seen my photo and when he spoke to me he said that he had seen my photo and my hair looked very nice but nothing about me smiling and now having nice looking teeth or anything about my teeth :-+

Hope all of you are progressing well with treatment.

Just thought I would revisit the board and say Hi to my fellow friends on here.

Life with retainers is going well, since the braces came off just over 3 months ago. I wear my Essix nightly which is my choice, which sadly I have some wear marks on due to my Bruxism and aim to get another retainer at home, for when I actually grind through it :(

Still smiling-sometimes I forget I actually have some nice teeth I can smile with! Don't miss my braces at all, to a degree I barely remember them.

Here is a photo that was taken on the day the braces came off (Looking the same just lost about a stone since the picture was taken!)

Page 15 there is a small mouth before shot (rare for there to be any photos of me with teeth showing pre treatment).
