Happy birthday! Push the boat out, cheesy mash and scrambled egg. Ah, the epicurean delights of embraced dining.

Thanks guys--I had a very nice birthday, and ate my brains out. I'm afraid to get on the scale, but when I do, it scares me into eating right!!

Well, tomorrow is final verdict day...I go to the ortho in the morning and it will be his final determination (I think :Questions: ) as to whether or not he thinks I will be ready to get my braces off on April 22 as planned.....

4 weeks from today and they might be off....seems too good to be true! I feel extremely apprehensive tonight....arrrgghhhhh.....

Drum Roll Please..... :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:

All of my molar bands are off!!!! No more buccal tubes!! They took about 3 brackets off too...

27 days to go!!!!!!!! I will be brace free in Hawaii!!!

I'm excited because I had nooooo idea he would be taking off the molar bands. And when people say it feels like they are going to pull your tooth out trying to get the molar bands off---they speak the truth!!! :soremouth: :soremouth: :soremouth: YOWWWEEEEEE!!! But it's all good--believe me, it's all good!!

When the assistant was taking my molar bands off with the pliers, she's pulling and pulling and saying, "man, I really don't like these pliers"--(ya think?? ) Anyway, a molar band finally pops off and she's practically falling out of her chair when it let go--and the molar band heads straight down my throat!! I caught it with the back of my throat just in time and had to reach down my throat to pull it out... :yikes:  :yikes: :yuck:

Oh ya, and after she took them off, the taste in my mouth was like 2 years of non-brushed teeth. It was DISGUSTING. So, ya, I had to get up and go brush my molars...

He also put a power chain underneath my braces, and one on top of my braces--ya, a little tight..hmmmm....but it's all good!!!

So, in 2 areas, my braces don't even go all the way back anymore...it seems so unreal...

So, here's how the retainers will be--permanent wire on the bottom behind the 6 front teeth, plus essix at night. Essix on the top 24/7 for 6 months. Then Essix on the top only at night for the rest of my life. Yes, I will be the one in the nursing home saying "Hey Ethel--be right with you--gotta put my retainer on first...."

So, the assistant said they make the Essix retainer right there in the office at my last appointment, which I guess is about 90 minutes or so long.

One more short appointment in 3 weeks, then they come off a week later....I can't believe it's really going to be my turn!!

P.S.---Thank-you all for your kind wishes

Wow! that is awesome news (the molar band removal, not the 2 year unbrushed molar flavor!). You have to post pics before you go to HI. I'll post them for you!

(I have to PM you anyway, so check there later today.)
