Hello everyone! I'm still here! Sorry about the delay in posting, but in all honesty, not a lot has been happening really in the land of my braces. Since I last posted, the orthodontist fixed my front tooth which went all wonky (his fault, he admitted, he didnt fit the wire properly) But he had to put me back on the thinner wire to fix it, so that probably set me back a little. :/

My last appointment was a month ago, and he asked me my concerns blah blah blah. I told him I wanted the last of my spaces GONE... NOW haha. Because for the last few appointments it seemed to me that NOTHING was happening. So he double power chained the whole top row. Yes, that's right, TWO! It was a bit uncomfortable for a few hours, but my teeth are finally moving to close in the last tiny spaces. Yay :)

My orthodontist also gave me a referral for a periodontist appointment to talk about the frenectomy for the muscle between my top front teeth. Does anyone know how much one of these 'surgeries' costs? I tried doing a little research, but yeah, nothing turned up. So that appointment isn't until the end of July (and I think that's JUST the consult for it) so I'm not sure when I'll actually get it done. But it is something I'd rather do if it means that my space will stay closed after the braces come off.

As for them coming off I'm not sure when, but EVERYONE keeps asking me. It has only been 1 year and 1 month. I'm taking them asking me, as a compliment, as it must look like my teeth are preeeeetttyyy :D haha

How exciting you are nearing the end, Bec! You might not remember me (I haven't logged on for a long long time) but your story really inspired me last year right before I decided to get braces (so happy I did!). I will also be looking into this surgery for the muscle so I will be interested to hear how you go with that and costs! Will you be getting a fixed retainer on your top two teeth?

Aww, I'm glad my story inspired you :) It's the best feeling, finally having a nice smile huh! I'll have to have a read of your story when I'm done replying.

I've since had an appointment with the ortho since I wrote last. He has confirmed that next time I'm in, on the 22nd, I will have a mold made for my top retainer (wire one). Mine will go on, he says, straight after I've had the surgery, and before my braces come off. How exciting!

I don't think I have that much longer in them. My teeth are all in place now finally, and I'm pretty happy with them! But it will still be a few months at least because I have to wait til late July to see the periodontist!! Argh. I'm hoping they're off my Christmas at the latest. I'd like to get excited about having them off sooner, but if I get my hopes up to early, I know I'll be dissapointed!

I will keep you posted with the details of the surgery and prices etc as I find out :)
