I need to get back to working out too- I'm going to try going back to karate wednesday night (depends on how I feel after adjustment though) I'll have to take it slow after the whole back thing but i feel like such a sloth!

argh my right side of my jaw is aching today
lately i think i have been clenching my front teeth as my molars still don't touch 100%.
my right side is really sore today and just aching, i keep touching it to massage it
i have taken some nerofen but it hasn't helped
i hope it goes away soon!

Ugh, I'm still having days where my jaw aches and all my teeth hurt from clenching too
It's horrible when you wake up 10 thousand times a night and realize you've got your jaw clamped shut. Feel better soon!
And no weight loss crowd checking in! I'd love to say I'll start eating all my salads and stuff again but I just can't chew them, even when my teeth don't hurt! I figure I'll worry about eating it all once these things are off.

It's all the carbs!!!! pudding, mashed potatoes, soft things seem to be loaded with carbs!!!
I lost 3 lbs the first 2 weeks of braces(because i wasn't eating much of ANYTHING) then WHAMMO I gained it all back and then some- so very disappointing
It's so hard to monitor what I am eating when on some days I don't have a lot of choice due to what I am able to eat due to soreness. I guess I'll have to be more resourceful.

But since then it's been one big carb up and while I don't avoid carbs generally I'm getting kind of sick of them. What I want to eat and what I can actually manage to eat with sore teeth are 2 very different things. I can't resort to fruit smoothies or anything either because fruit tends to make me quite ill

you are so right, i lost a bit of weight with the spacers, but haven't really lost any with braces, only gained lol.

I feel awful today. Had myotherapy last night on my sore muscles
its like really really deep tissue massage and it hurts cos i have just neglected my back and neck and my posture has gone to sh!t so its awful. I feel so out of it and headachy today and i just had to do a presentation at work and struggled but got there!

I manage to bite into bread all the time now except for days when my front teeth hurt. The fear of the brackets going into something sort of passes (it's passed with bread-not so much with anything chewy or hard in any way).

I don't worry so much about the braces going into soft things like bread and wraps, the worst part is the cleanup, and I manage just fine. I was a little more sore after I posted last night but not too bad, and definitely not as bad as the soreness when they first went on.

I am feeling lots better today but still suffering from my sore back but I have told myself I am going to gym tonight even if it is just to do weights. I have only been 1 time this week... and i put a skirt on for work today as its magically 25C degrees in Melbourne today and its the end of May when it is normally around about the 13C mark, and I put the skirt on WOAH... my gut hangs out like christmas LOL. I really need to get back in control with my eating and at least attempt a salad or something.
I just had mixed beans and tuna, all fine until I bit into a chickpea and it was hard as a rock! ouch! so i tried to pick the chickpeas out but in the end it just got to hard so I ended up just throwing it all out.
I have come up with a few ideas for lunch and snack ideas.
Boiled Eggs
Tuna/Smoked Salmon, with beans (no chickpeas!) shredded iceberg lettuce etc
Cooked vegies in the slow cooker! (I might make this sunday as it wil be nice and mushy for next week!)
i still need more ideas lol. I have been eating the weight watchers custard and apple bars, probably not great for me, but they are a nice soft sweet treat without TO many calories. I need to get off the carbs! well, the bad carbs like way to much bread! lol
i am having a better day today so lets hope it continues into the weekend
(i think cos its friday its the reason to smile lol)

I'm sorry but "my gut hangs out like Christmas" cracked me up!!! I know that feel. I've been watching the scales creep up for the last week
For some reason I stay the same everywhere except my stomach. It's always the first to get bigger and the last to get smaller (grr!) I think you look fine in your birthday photo's so I wouldn't panic too much if I were you!

And yep, I hate the first warm days of the season when you're getting out tight tops and shorts and stuff. I always look like a flubby old ghost!!! Takes most of summer to start feeling comfortable (then it gets cold again!)

glad your feeling better!!!! long time no talk! lol and thats cool about the weather! its finally starting to warm up here and im loving it! im sorry your clenching, thats the worst!!! im still clenching and its so annoying! i dont wanna sleep with a mouth guard on but im afraid i might chip a tooth soon! and i know how you feel about going to the gym! im starting a diet this week and i hate it! but i dont fit my clothes anymore so its def time for me to get back on track. haharhibee83 wrote:thanks guys,

how are your braces going? you are lucky to be getting warm weather! i love the heat! i know i clench too and i dont want to sleep with a mouth guard on either! yuk! haha i am starting my healthy eating this week as well (tomorrow) haha i have made some zuchinni and carrot "hashbrowns" and some turkey burgers for lunch! (burger with no bun etc, just the meat lol) should be yum tho and nice and healthy and NO CARBS lol!
