I meant to post another photo after my adjustment but honestly there isn't really that much to show right now. 20 weeks in and the teeth look very much the same as the 13 week photo. The major change phase is over now!

I had my 4th adjustment today. The upper wire was changed from 0.016x.025 to a new 0.016x.025 except they made it longer than the old one. My coil springs were made too long at my December appointment so the upper wire slipped out of the back bracket about 2 weeks after having it put In. I'm kind of mad about it because I had called the office to let them know but the assistant said it wasn't important to engage that tooth. Turns out it was important to have it engaged before we move up to a bigger wire. Now I have 5 weeks tacked onto treatment time.

My lower wire was changed to a 0.017x0.025 TMA. My bite turbo was shaved down quite a bit so now I have contact with my back molars for the first time in 5 months. The coil springs were reduced by 1mm each and I got a new elastic configuration from upper canines to lower 2s with gazelle 1/4" light 2.5 oz. elastics.

The next time I go for an adjustment will be in 5 weeks on March 20th.

I can already feel pain in the lower arch and it's been an hour since having this new wire.

I'm happy to be moving along with most of this braces saga though!

Congrats on adjustment #4! That sucks about the wire though... I wouldn't have thought it would make that much of a difference either. I hope things move right along for you despite this setback.

Your new elastics go from upper canines to lower laterals? That has to be really annoying... I can't stand my triangles.

Thanks! Well this molar (upper 7 left) is tipped out quite a bit and sunken into the maxillary bone quite far. The assistant had a real hard time bending this .016 into the back few brackets. The tooth has to come down and tip in or else we won't be able to get the bigger wire in next appointment.

Oops! I meant the elastics are hooked on the second from the back on the bottom, not 2s. So 6's it would be actually. Yeah what I originally said would be super awkward to wear then like that! It's a class ll configuration still, upper connections were moved from teeth 4's to 3's

Yes I will try and get some pictures up, at this point visually things aren't really a lot different than my last photo.

Alright brace face friends here are my before to (almost) 6 months progress pictures 175 days/25 weeks. The changes sure have added up! These little minions are working well, my bite has closed up almost all the way...first time ever I can make contact with some teeth with out rocking my jaw side to side!

Yeah it's crazy how before getting braces it's like 'my teeth don't seem too bad, but then you look back and see how much better they could have been. Thanks though for that, lol, it's 'orthodonticly' appropriate so I'll just roll with it.

I'm really happy with all your kind words! I'm kind of in the phase where I just want these braces off, but just got to keep on enduring the annoyances for about 9-12 months more.
