I have ceramic and they dont look like that. Yours look awesome and totally clear! Great progress also, I'm super impressed that you do all of that yourself. I also think changing ligs quicker makes your teeth move faster. I have my adjustments every 3-4 weeks and really try to get them in the 3 week timeframe. My teeth feel tighter and the pressure makes me feel like somethings happening.

I feel the same, there's obviously more pressure every time I change the ligs so I know my teeth are moving. Also the old ligs are all stretched out when I remove them so I don't think they're doing much at that point except holding the wire in place. I really have seen progress every month and my Ortho seems shocked. The comment he made on my last visit was "wow, your entire bite has been transformed, it's totally different". Changing ligs is really not that difficult and when I do it, it feels gentler than when my tech does it with pliers. I use two pieces of dental floss and insert them in the center of the lig, then I slightly stretch the lig with both hands pulling each string from opposite sides as I slip it over the the top of the bracket. Once the top is hooked I gently pull the strings down so the lig wraps around the bottom of the bracket. It's painless and kinda like putting on socks if you think about it. The power chains are even easier to manage taking off and putting on, I only use one string for those. It takes me about 15 mins for both top and bottom which is about as long as it takes the tech.SunshineRay wrote:I have ceramic and they dont look like that. Yours look awesome and totally clear! Are your braces like an off-white? I've seen pics of other ceramics and you're right that they don't look like mine. I guess they're not all really clear? Mine are completely see-through, I've had some pop off and fall on the floor as I was inspecting them, they were really hard to find because they're so clear lol. Good luck with your treatment that's awesome you have appointments more frequently too.

I'm still seriously impressed that you took matters into your own hands (literally). It's pretty ingenious of you. I wish that I could do something similar. I'm going to be interested in seeing how fast you're out of braces, because your self-treatment has to be speeding the process along.
